My old one, so long ago I had to scan those pictures in (did that also long time ago ;-)) sadly the colour is bad in the pictures.

Porsche Carrera 3.0 1976 PLATINUM METALLIC with all green leather and turbo seats etc, a lovely rare car.
At the time of buying I did not now it was that special, but had a guess (no internet days)
What I also liked were the window frames, those were in a titanium grey-ish look (no paint, pure metall) in real life very special (at the time)

Sometimes it was for short on my short drive way for the garage, to clean or so, and one day a man in a van stopped and asked, do you want to sell it? I said, for a good offer a lot is for sale, he made a good offer and it was sold, for me it was up to the next car at the time, back in 1994 at that time I had owned already 53 cars, good times.

A little write up about the 915: https://philipraby.co.uk/the-joys-of-a-porsche-911...

Watch 'the old guys' drive a racing car or a classic Ferrari/whatever and see how relaxed they shift gears. I always shift 'across the middle' (neutral) before selection when I need to cross 2-3 and 4 to 5 and vice versa. Apart from post 70s Jap boxes - which you can really slam through the gears - this works a treat and is quick enough when you know what you want to do.

I never had any problem with a 915 and I am particulary fond of the 4-speed in the 930. A G50 feels more normal... Still an epic box though. In our modern days I wish AMG (I love the V6 43) used Porsche boxes...

A nice summary of the 915. Also a top tip about using Swepco gear oil. I find it helps to ensure the clutch pedal is fully pressed as well as 'feeling' your way through the gears rather than just banging them in.

That looks sweet on Teledials, don’t often see those - must be quite an early 3.2

Its a non sport model. Very rare in UK actually and a much better ride. When I see how pretty that is i wonder why people bother back date etc as to me that is the epitome of retro cool just as she is - perfect wink

Very attractive car. The wheels suit the colour, visual proof that a simple oem look often works best. How do you get on with the 915 'box?

Thanks. The box was rebuilt some 3 years ago, so works ok. Needs a bit of patience especially when cold and does not liked to be hurried. I really like it, I think it adds to the charm of the car..

Sorry - should be better than “ok”; I have a AC with a 915 box - when built / serviced properly they work perfectly smile

Hahaha!

915: I love to slow shift when driving at a decent pace. OT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTJIQ6VyPoM - check how easy and relaxed these guys shift. That is cooler than cool.

Unfortunately, it’s barely visible - hidden behind the two 964s.
