I own a Scud and have a good friend who lets me drive his 458 extensively - including driving Swiss passes and a few track days at Monza - so feel I can answer this one from my experience.

To me they actually feel quite similar in a lot of ways. They both feel like oversized go-karts with an excess of power in all conditions and the way in which you look out over the curve of the front arches feels the same. I have a (switchable) Capristo exhaust on the Scud whilst the 458 is standard.

So to the differences:
- Gearbox - for me the single biggest difference between the cars - the F1 on the Scud is excellent but for smooth and fast gearchanges in all conditions the 458 is quite simply incredible. You can then debate what you like until the cows come home I guess but for me I very slightly prefer the F1 box for its feeling of actual gearchanges (it is a little slow in sport mode however so usually unless its very wet I leave in race). The 458 you can only tell you have changed gears by the fact the engine noise changes!
- Interior - the Scud is slightly more of an occasion (I have the upgraded leather with contrasting stitching) and it leads you to feel as though the car is rawer than the 458. (this of course extends elsewhere). The 458 comes back with a sense of everyday plushness and is a newer smarter design - both very satisfying to sit in for long journeys.
- Sound - with the Capristo the Scud plays incredible music to my ears and really defines the experience. The 458 is loud as well and is great on start up - but in standard form can't live with my Scud in terms of exhaust note. This gives the Scud a real race like feel which the 458 can't match.

Overall I love both of them as cars. The driving experience is actually quite similar but for the above and they are quite simply stunning to look at and experience. I went for the Scud as they made a lot less of them and I like cars that make you feel like you are in a car in race trim (one of my previous cars was a Lotus 340R so I am down with stripped out track cars) but there are no losers here just two very special cars from one of the greatest car companies in the world.

I was never tempted to swap out of my Scud for a 458 even though in most ways you can measure, the 458 is a better car.
Having limited time to use it, I loved that it was a bit more raw and felt more edgy, and was that much more exciting when I did take it out. If I was getting out more maybe a 458 would have been tempting....maybe.

I've just parted with my Scud for a Speciale after lots of dithering and I'm not missing it like I thought I would. It was great car and I had a lot of fun with it but to me the current CS & Scuderia prices make the Speciale look like a bargain.
It was a hard decision for me lots of dithering toosmile
I sold CS (that I thought would be a keeper owned 7 years) to buy Speciale smile

It depends if you want looks or fun?

I think the 458 looks better but the 430 Scud drives better.

Personally I'd stick with the Scud

Sold my 430 Scuderia and although it wasn't a direct replacement as such bought a 650S Spider over a 458 and Speciale and never looked back

Now looking at a LHD Scuderia for my track fix and next plan is to get Speciale in a couple of years.

My personal answer to the question " would you sell a Scuderia for a 458 " would be NO but if its your only supercar it depends what you want from it as they are both epic in their own ways. ( Overall the 458 is the better car though )
