Talking of such things anyone else get a message about a Carrera GT?
I did, Dutch or Belgian name?I've heard of a scam where premium car manufacturers have started producing "special editions' of their production cars and only selling them to selected customers who spend lots of money with them on standard cars. Sounds iffy to me. Avoid.

I had that message from someone with a Dutch sounding name.
Got it as well. Came via PH to the e mail I use for PH and other non secure sites. I just deleted it at the time but as it was still sitting in the deleted items box I have now been able to copy the text which reads as follows:"When responding to this email please ensure that you do not reply to membership@pistonheads.com as this is a no-reply address and will not reach the member.
This email enquiry has been sent from julien1997@live.nl and all replies should be sent to this address.
Someone has sent you a message:
Username: Juliendevriess
Email: julien1997@live.nl
Message:
Good afternoon sir,
Would you be intrested in a good priced and low mileage Porsche Carrera GT in GT silver?
best,
Julien

I think he has a public profile on Instagram?
He does indeed, always notice his comments on other 'Car Collectors' Instagram pictures, that address links to a car sourcing business and on the face of it, does seem quite genuine accept for the bit where he does spam people with the comments. So Julien also contacted me about the CGT when I was looking for one only I actually knew of a couple of cars already and subsequently bought one for a PH member on this thread.
Julien is a young lad and I don't think he is particularly anything to worry about. He's just trying his hand at the sourcing business. Clearly he's trying a bit too hard given the alarming number of emails above. I don't know if he has actually sourced any cars for anyone, or certainly hasn't shown any evidence that he has.
I have a list as long as my arm of people to avoid. There is another chap called Gabriel that you should also watch out for.
Back on topic of this thread.
Mike (goes by many names) is a professional scam artist and has actually taken money from people.
I was talking to a client just a couple of hours ago who also was contacted. Mr Mike claimed he got his mobile number from a bodyshop that he had used before. If so, its quite worrying if this is the case. He's literally text several people I know and it can only be because he's pulled out someones database.
Rule of thumb for all. You need to do some serious Due Diligence on any offers of deals like this. Always use Solicitors to solicitors for transactions unless you know the seller is genuine. This is for deposits as well as full payment. Get as many forms of ID from the the seller as possible (Mike was using fake driving licences so always request a scan of passport)
