Well after a couple of months of looking, I somewhat impulsively placed a deposit on a 488 Spider.

I initially wanted a red or black one and never thought Id settle for.....Bianco avus....which is white to you and I !

Car has a mega spec, Ferrari approved car so has the 2 year warranty

In brief summary:-

Bianco avus
Loads of carbon (I think it has pretty much every exterior and interior carbon I can tjink of)
Goldrake seats
Forged alloys
reverse camera/sensors
JBL audio
White rev counter etc

I really am excited to collect on Friday and will post my findings on here with some pics !

Is it worth joining Ferrarichat?...seems very busy but mainly USA based

Congrats, was it the car at Ferrari Glasgow. I had it saved in my Autotrader list, didn't necessarily want a white car, but it was well priced for a spider. Still trying to get a drive in a 600lt and 720s before making a decision.

Congratulations, sounds like a lovely example and good spec too.

Ferrari Chat as you observed, is predominantly American and imo, not overly welcoming. A good source of knowledge though nevertheless.

I very nearly did, I just wasn’t 100% on the white to be perfectly honest, however it is much nicer in person.

Ive owned a white (well suzaka grey) R8 which looked awesome. Ive bought the 488 blind but its a 488...its going to look great even in white is my thinking !

As an ex R8 owner myself I can concur that Suzuka grey is a brilliant looking colour. As for white, that was the colour of my R8 so no complaints here.

Well I had a proper look over it, inside and out, and I’m not shy in laying on the floor to look underneath !!

I’m sure you won’t be dissapointed ! Enjoy, and post some pictures up when you get it

I find the cheap seats pretty decent Trev, i.e. the sections not devoted to classics or newer machinery. Venture outside the safe spaces of the 308 --> 430 groups though and as you say it does get a bit sniffy.

Thanks for the tip @HardtopManual. I shall see if I can sneak in under the radar in the poverty sections.

Congrats! Sounds like a fantastic spec!

Question is, can you resist the urge to take it out whilst there's salt and ice on the roads!

I certainly won't be able to resist the urge to drive in winter conditions...I've always driven my fun cars extensively.... my last car a 2019 Vantage....I put 10k miles in 11 months as a second car!

There's no point in spending all the money and not driving them...money will certainly be lost but I'll worry about that come resale time !

Great time of year to bag a bargain!

Hopefully see you out and about - another central-belt 488 owner here

Car successfully collected.....a treacherous drive home from Glasgow is terrible weather conditons wasnt the ideal introduction to the 488

I hated the wipers on the steering wheel.....and the washer fluid ran out mid journey....coupled with black ice....didnt make for an enjoyable drive at all.

Very pleased with the car itself, looks stunning in white with all the carbon and is in as new condition - no wear at all on seats or interior.

We have heavy snow today so I'll have to be patient before I get to drive it again !
