Car successfully collected.....a treacherous drive home from Glasgow is terrible weather conditons wasnt the ideal introduction to the 488

I hated the wipers on the steering wheel.....and the washer fluid ran out mid journey....coupled with black ice....didnt make for an enjoyable drive at all.

Very pleased with the car itself, looks stunning in white with all the carbon and is in as new condition - no wear at all on seats or interior.

We have heavy snow today so I'll have to be patient before I get to drive it again !
Congratulations on getting it home in one piece. I trust you kept the Manettino in wet mode. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

Re your “wipers on the steering wheel” comment. You will get used to it. However when I got my 458 I’d had it about a week when I first had to drive it home in the dark and then it started raining. Suddenly I was having to use buttons on the steering wheel to work wipers, washers and to dip the headlights as well as using the paddles to change gear. I took a deep breath, put the car in auto so at least I wouldn’t have to change gear and drove home pretty slowly. However, as I said, you do get used to it.

Well this is frustrating.....no chance to drive the car or even clean the car! I will pop it in the garage now that the snow has melted and there it will remain I think for some time until this nasty weather clears.

The car shows so much promise which makes it all the more frustrating.

I'll get some pics and spec posted as soo. as conditions permit

I also periodically flash the main beam instead of lowering the volume… but I’m gradually getting used to it also!

Give the underside and wheel arches a good pressure wash, if you drive it home at the weekend there will be salt everywhere. Also give the trickle-charger connector points (above the rear plate) a good clean as they can oxidise and prevent charging.

Enjoy

Thanks for the positive comments gents !

Im delighted with the car so far, its epic to drive, more power than you could ever use /want on UK roads

Ive had many great sounding cars such as R8 v10, 2019 Vantage, C63s, Amg GTS, and am pleased to say that the 488 sounds superb...Im not sure why people say they sound meh as IMO it sounds sulerb especially with the rear window down/roof down (I couldnt resist even in this cold weather!)

Im looking forward to dry conditions as this car promises to deliver an amazing experience from what Ive seen so far.

Very very impressed. I'll do a proper "keen amateur" review after I've driven the car for a few weeks and got to learn what its about.

It's a difficult one re sound, it seems quite difficult to get the best car with the best sound in this sort of ball park.

720s/488 both lack a little bit of drama in the sound department. R8 V10 sounds great but it's not quite there everywhere else including badge, Huracan also sounds great but flawed in other places.

My business partner just got a 488 and I'm on the hunt for a 720s, wish they were both a bit more aural.

Turn the switch to "Race" and it gets / sounds even better.

(wait until spring smile)
