Mondial 8 - what's the consensus?

As I have been threatened with a ban from Pistonheads for expressing my opinion on the Mondial in question, and the current market value of Mondial's compared to other Ferrari's (apparently my moderator-removed post breached the rules somehow
), I shall no longer be posting in this thread.
Good luck with the sale!
Why can’t you post a summary of the condition of a car you’ve viewed. Am I missing something?

That happens on lots of threads.

In fairness, he hadn't viewed the car. I know we all get a bit misty-eyed about our own cars, but this QV is - by anyone's standards - a bit special: properly looked after since Day 1, owned, set-up and maintained by a Ferrari legend. I've seen a fair few, and none come close to the condition of this one.

It was actually this car that started this thread!
I enquired about it and it all sounded pretty good. Surprised it's still for sale - probably worth a look...
I think they're selling it on behalf of a widow of a previous customer. I gather he paid £38k for it originally.
Definitely worth a conversation with them ( if you're not put off by the power output).
Certainly a good colour combination.
I went for a QV in the end.

It was your reports on the Pogson car that made me consider the Runnymede car by coincidence!
It looks good and the prices seem to be reasonable again, I’ve reread the thread, is the gap closing on Mondial 8’s and QV’s now as it did for the variations of 308 as they got older?
I’ve always been a fan of the Mondial but as they get older, they seem to be looking even more uncluttered and inoffensive to my eyes. I didn’t bother keeping an eye on prices when they went stratospheric but at around £20K, I expect they’d feel like a bargain again....

I'd go and have a (COVID-secure) look and a test drive.
For me, it's all about the condition of a particular car rather than the generalities of a model. Yes, slow by modern standards, but still pretty special in 1980.
If this is a beautiful example of an 8, that's been loved and cherished, that check's out and drives as it should, then I'd say why not? If it puts a smile on your face and the price is right...
