I knew straight away when I saw mine. Only reservation at first was E-gear v the latest DCT's but in a way I preferred it and as I say it was better than F1 which was very good anyway.
Went to test drive a 458 and McLaren but came away with the Performante ?????.

Spyder is like 2 cars in one. On balance I probably prefer the coupe looks unlike most others but the fact that you can drop the roof on a summer day more than makes up any difference in the drive on the limit which TBH you can't do on the public roads and the car is too darn fast and capable anyway.
I don't think most people are really good enough drivers to notice the difference.

If on the other hand you want to do a lot of track driving then the coupe is probably a better choice but for normal road driving and posing its the Performante IMHO.
I can see the Performante being a keeper for me as the latest cars as fast as they are really aren't much fun. They are becoming a dying breed and will come very sort after in years to come I'm sure of it

Gather feedback and others experience but at the end of the day no one elses opinion matters when its your money.
Your absolutely right go and give all your options a good test drive and choose the one that suits YOU best. I drove mine on a cold wet day with the roof up and was still sold on it so god help you if its warm and sunny, you won't be able to say NO
have you ever driven a coupe ?

Briefly ( 20 mins on A and B roads )but not really pressing on. Certainly not long or hard enough to pick up any major differences but like I said I don't go mad on public roads

Make no bones about it the Coupe is an equally cracking car so ultimately you have to weigh up the looks (subjective) and maybe slightly better handling on the limit ( objective )of the coupe versus the open top motoring experience.

For me the latter wins by a long way and if we have another summer like this year it will be fantastic. Despite us all moaning about the British weather the UK continues to have the highest % of convertibles sold of any European country and I drive with the roof down at every opportunity and that usually works out to be at least once every month even during the winter.

Anyway its dry and a sunny 13C down here on the English Riviera so its time to go and do some more posing in front of all the xmas shoppers biggrin

I'll let you know what I chose - first I need to sell the 599 or get a good trade in.....

Yes please do always interested in others views on either car.

599 prices have been fairly static for a while and represent good value for what they are so if you find the right car at the right dealer who is looking to reduce/rotate his stock you might be pleasantly surprised with the p/x value. I traded my F430 spider to Meridien prior to buying the Lambo and got a fair price. Another private seller has been trying to sell his equivalent F430 for 3 months now and by the time someone makes him a bid he will return less than I did trade without the hassle

Cool. Do you know what finish he has on the alloy wheels? It doesn't look like the standard matt titanium but more like shiny ball polished.

Mine are gloss black and look well mean with the blacked out windows but I've always preferred silver alloys so I'm considering changing them even though the black does suit the aggressive nature of the car

That looks superb. I never understood why Lamborghinis are "supposed" to be some lurid colour.
That red looks brilliant to me. And I agree, those wheels are perfect too.
I never liked black wheels on any car.

Guess I must be a bit non-conformist, but if I was to buy one, that would be the perfect colour combination as far as I am concerned.

It sounds wrong a red lambo but pictures don't ever do it justice.
It looks even more fantastic when you see one for real probably because its not a colour you associate with the Gallardo.
I've never been a fan of black wheels hence why I am toying with changing them back to titanium.
When I went to see the car I said you can't have a red lambo with black wheels it just breaks all my rules but when I first saw it I immediately knew it looked right.

I've always loved Lambo orange, yellow and green but I think it would be different owning one in that colour and seeing it every day whereas the red looks great and I can live with it easier.
Believe it or not its also a lot rarer unlike a red Ferrari

Its a stunning motor in the flesh! I'm pretty pleased with my pics of it but dont think they do it justice! Will send him a text about the wheel finish but I believe thats exactly how he got it from Lamborghini London.

Different angle on the wheels...
