I had a series 1 SL and utterly adored it, it was brutally fast car and sublime handling and was fabulous on track and kept up easily with modern day Supercars such a Pista's and Speciale's. Mine was a one owner car from the EU and I done 12,000km in it in 4yrs of ownership and loved every minute it. The car was literally perfect and unmessed with.
The steering wheel wasn't great if I was being picky, but I never got round to doing it. I would have kept it but a Diablo SV (at Amari) came up and I couldn't say no and we agreed a good deal and I was sad to see it go as it was probably one of the best in the UK, but I had always wanted a Diablo. It was LHD and did sell fairly quick as it was priced right at the time-£80k. It went to Austria where the owner immediately put it up for sale for a premium and I kept track of it for a while but it is no longer for sale
Overall maintenance wise no issues, it was on the original clutch and I had to reverse up a gradient into my garage and had no issues. I had a slight issue with the speed sensors quite early on-a cheap fix. I went through 2 sets of tyres as it was tracked (as it should be!!!) and just regular servicing.
If I had the money and space I would buy it back in a heartbeart. Special cars, but still haven't found their rightful place in this market when you look at 360CS and 430 Scud values.

Well spotted, its back up for sale. Its a proper sorted car-hope the services have been carried out yearly!https://m.mobile.de/auto-inserat/lamborghini-galla...
Does anyone on here track their SL? Any pointers?
I’ve viewed the Amari car last weekend and left a deposit, waiting for a main dealer service and health check now.
Luckily my F80 M3 sold 10 minutes after going on autotrader and I believe it’s being collected Sunday. Desperate for it’s replacement now, even looking to joint SCD so I use it more

The noise on the AV is second to none IMO
I know, its a shame, been listening to the Vanquish V12S which revs to 7k but the SVJs limiter was 8,500, in the tunnels through italy it was something me or my wife will never forget. To be fair to the Vanquish I think it sounds better low to mid tbh, the SVJ only sounded good right at the top.
I’m wandering if a completely separate, additional track car might be a solution but i really dont want the hassle of 5 cars tbh.

Well I bought it! Car is immaculate and had a full health check and service at Lamborghini before I picked it up. Had it a week now and done like 660 miles, took it to the super car driver secret meet and had a great day.
No regrets as yet.
Lucky man, looks like a great decision ,usually like them in a bright colour but think i may have changed my mind,No regrets as yet.

Hey Scott,
It looks like there's been further personalisation since your last post:
How about an update, how has it changed the driving, cornering experience?
How well is grip maintained in just the rear wheels, etc?
Car hasnt really been used much tbh, been using the GT3 mainly this year and last, but I did do the lp570 look on it. It looks like there's been further personalisation since your last post:

Re the 2WD - smoother when taking off, less crabbing when parking and turning sharply, grearshifts i would say are smoother but i do tend to lift during changes, steering much improved i would say, same feel but a bit lighter, have had the traction control kick in once on cold tyres when fully flat acceleration but other than that one time there has be no loss of grip, tbh, i wouldnt go back to the 4wd, its overall just a nicer car to drive, cheap to do, 3hrs with a ramp and easy to put back to original, no check lights as its only an oil temp sender that is on the front diff, i had a 430 scuderia at one point and the drive feel is more like that,
regards
Scott.
Great sunset pictures.
Amazed to read that it's only about a 3 hr job and relatively cheap. I had imagined it to be a much bigger job. It makes me wonder why more owners haven't done the same, with the improvements that you have found.
Possibly there's an expectation that the insurers will want to jack the premium up as the car is no longer standard. Possibly owners have already accepted that most Gallardos are 4 wheel drive and are happy with that. There are a few 2 wheel drive versions that they could have been sought out, though those are more rare.
