I received word from my dealer the order books are open and order guides have been e-mailed out to dealers. Looking at Spring launch, customers cars probably in Q3.
From what I was told on the phone the car has tons of carbon on the exterior/interior, no forged carbon, carbon bonnet, roof scoop, louvres, racing tech like brakes and wheels. Also front and rear body panels are carbon, weight reduction of 135kg and RWD.
My dealer also told me allocation is extremely tight and informed me that right now I'm on the wait list because all VVIP's have committed to the car. He didn't give me exact allocation numbers but he hinted well below 10.

1200 is hardly limited. Lambo made this mistake with Aventador SVJ. There are only 550 Performante spyders worldwide and I would suggest the STO needs to be circa 600 and certainly no more than 750 to be considered "limited" WilliamWaiver said:

My dealer is being quite cagey with the info and has dodged putting a definitive number on it which probably tells me everything I want to know.I'm only interested in properly limited cars as I hone my collection
Dealers are getting a set number of allocations and they've already been told how many cars they're getting. Any dealer acting like they don't know how many cars they're getting is full of BS.
Keep in mind, the Performante had no set allocation, it was limited to production year so they won't producing STO's at the same level as the Perf.

Although in reality "limited to production year" can mean absolutely anything in terms of numbers. You're right that the Performante had no set allocation, but because it was produced for such a short time there are I believe fewer Performante Spyders out there than SVJ Roadsters, for instance, despite the latter being 'limited'.No argument from me that there will be fewer STOs than Performante coupes however, and I can't wait to see the final production version!

Very true. Limited production year can work out but sometimes it can backfire, take for example the Pista. No argument from me that there will be fewer STOs than Performante coupes however, and I can't wait to see the final production version!
Also keep in mind the STO was suppose to be shown in August at Quail so market intro cars would have gone into production in Q1 with customer deliveries in Q4. Because of COVID they've lost a year worth of production which is why I think they're giving set allocation. It's unlikely they'll extend production by another MY because this would screw up the timeline for the Huracan replacement.
