LP Gallardo USB cable to connect phone

Hi all
Another noob question about to land most likely, just picked up my LP570 that has a upgraded sound system tans really does sound great, only issue is what comes out of it on the radio haha
In the glovebox there is a USB adaptor and on plugging in my iPhone cable it does nothing. I can tell it is not even recognising the phone because it will not even charge.

Is there a adaptor I need to allow me to play my music through Spotify without going down the, gulp, official Lambo route!!

I use a bovee ipod to bluetooth adapter in my lp560 that works well and cheap:
