Piston heads is becoming a joke

To those that supported my innocent original post I thank you. For those that have made such a fuss it's time to put your egos to bed!!
Ph was once a place for enthusiast to gain the knowledge they required to make educated, sensible decisions, it transpires that idiots that compare Ph to Tesco and the M25 now have the technical know how to own, run and buy a car, good luck chaps.

No question in my mind, certainly since Garlick is no longer around, the feedback I've had from other PHers here and elsewhere about one or two PH "mods" clearly indicate some are both prejudicial and far too big for their boots.
Possibly an initial indication of the road to decline.
All very sad.

Part of the problem is invisible mods, there doesn't seem to be any way of identifying them. Got to keep the power well hidden it appears.Edited by DJR 7 on Monday 4th May 00:43

In future perhaps we should ban the wanted requests for ECUs, flywheels, ignition components to name a few.....all posted to help fellow PHers especially with TVRs resolve problems
I sincerely hope Dr Mike Oxgreen in his hour of need remembers his "wanted" policing policy
OK, just for clarity, I removed the reference post, why because it was a vehicle wanted thread and whilst it's not a written rule, we have been requested to removed ALL threads of that nature and have done for many years. However, as we don't get to see every thread that's raised every single day we don't always pick them up, if they aren't reported and we don't spot them they stay live until we do. I sincerely hope Dr Mike Oxgreen in his hour of need remembers his "wanted" policing policy
As a rule, if parts are being given away FOC and as long as the OP states that, then the thread would normally run its course.
Parts/items wanted threads are allowed on the forums, but not "vehicle wanted" threads as I've previously stated.
Hope that answers your questions, please don't forget that if you have any concerns regarding moderation on the site then please take up your issues directly with James Drake.
Big Al, "not a written rule"says it all really!
I posted innocently to a captive audience, why? Because I want to buy a car from a like minded enthusiast.
You need to look and police your unwritten rules more closely ... Or publish your written rules so that we can adhere to them.
I for one did not appreciate the criticism I received tonight from the idiots that were interpreting your " unwritten rules"

The number of rules of posting have been reduced and condensed over the years from when Haymarket took over the site. Not something the mods really went along with but we put our case forward at the time and what we have now are the guidelines we have to work too.
I can say from my own personal perspective that that are not ideal why because some are unwritten as I've stated.
We would much prefer to have a comprehensive and definitive list of rules that would obviate the need for this type of thread to be raised.
But the reasoning behind the decision was HM didn't want to have a big long list of rule as members wouldn't bother to read them, we've found from experience that very few members actually read the 6 rules we have now or even know where to find them.
As I've said James Drake is your man.

Do not post or link for the purposes of advertising or personal gain (including cars for sale) or cross-post across multiple forums. If you wish to advertise please use the classifieds or contact us directly. Please note that we do not allow members to advertise their own car in the forums, nor do we allow members to post asking for valuations on their current car (please use the classifieds as a guide).

A transaction doesn't mean gain.
As I said earlier, you allow other items to be traded on your forums..
I truly believe you've been to harsh with my post.
Having been a member for some 13 years I am disappointed with your response.

You seem quite happy to advertise in your own posts though ....
Gosh, there's some remarkable stupidity in this thread. Can you really not see the difference? My local corner shop sells milk! Halfords sell engine oil! Bears sh!t in the woods! None of this is advertising.Dr Mike Oxgreen said:

Genuine, full-on LOL.From the sound of it I'd just post a series of threads asking if if anyone knows where you can buy 4 wheels, and engine, a working drivetrain, all attached to an A8 chassis.. parts are allowed..
Have to say as your screenshots show, and as is very well known, the consistency of moderation is not there so I can understand why you'd be frustrated.
That said, their ball their rules I guess.
