Just been thinking about a suggestion for a section on here...

I'm struggling with a few areas of my life to be honest; very overweight, short of money, few career prospects etc (but I still have my sense of humour hehe )

Given there must be many others in a similar boat or with different issues, would there be a demand for a section on here where people post their statuses and others could throw in advice or help along the way? Not on about it going all Mumsnet or anything (U Ok Hun? etc) but more a case of folks that have been there & done that offering help, advice and piss-taking no doubt to those people. Yes, no doubt there are sections that will apply (Health Matters, Jobs, The Lounge) but this would be more of a diary section, people could even post their progress as they go.

Appreciate it's not for everyone but might be an idea. scratchchin

If you want to focus on the money angle, Mrmoneymustache forum has one of the busiest diary sections I know about. They are called Journals, and it's a very popular section of the site. The threads are only available to view if you login. So some level of privacy! Some journals have 5000 posts or more with everyone chipping in. It's a great resource though skewed USA. And you need to put up with everyone bragging about how big their stache is...

However financial independence is a life long journey, that touches on pretty much every aspect of life, every single day. You could write a motoring themed diary, but would it bring everything together in the same way? Not sure, but I think it's an entertaining aspect of a forum, for sure.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. It's very American, isn't it? hehe

That's the sort of thing I mean though, the journals. As I said, there are sections for various different "issues" people have, ie money, fitness, relationships, career etc but not a section for people making a lifestyle change and needing help.
