I prefer the look of the early Murcielagos (6.2, LP640) over the later, slashes and hard edges versions.

Is there any reason to avoid the first-gen 6.2? Likewise the manual or e-gear?

There is no reason to avoid the 6.2
Likewise there is no reason to avoid the robotised manual gearbox

Just get a very well maintained car , and continue to look after it well .

Both Mike Pullen and Roberto Grimaldi have contributed to : 9781845849221 , and they give their opinions about the mechanicals therein

As to the 6.2's power and torque relative to the other variants , you wont really notice much difference on the public road if you are driving half sensibly , and the Murcielago is not what I would choose as my track car .

Thank you. I have no intention of tracking any car, ever. smile

I don't know what 9781845849221 is.

My pleasure

It is an ISBN number for a book .
Just put the number into Google .

Best of luck in your search
They are great cars - the last of the Bizzarrini-engined , Marchesi spaceframe chassis'ed Lamborghinis

Just make sure you get a decent one - that's really , really important .
Mike or Roberto will check it over for you pre-purchase .

I’ve got an early manual Murci. Lovely thing. Proper Lambo.

Dave at Lamborghini Pangbourne will also give you a good view on the condition of a car.

(Carspath wrote the book he’s referring to.)

And yet the Diablo does nothing for me. Looks like a kit car.

I can’t add much experience other than I drove an almost identical one to this about ten years ago;

The memory remains vivid. It was a manual car too, I suspect that added to the drama.

Russ, Adam or David at JZM should be able to arrange a video of this one at short notice.

There's only one on the list. It's a 'fire sale', and if it wasn't, I wouldn't even be considering one. smile

I own an LP640 E-Gear and also prefer the look of it to the the SV (presume that’s what you were referring to in your post)

I’ve done 25,000 miles in mine. Happy to answer any questions

Thank you. It'll probably come to nought because it's in another country and I wasn't thinking about buying one until it came up.

I’m not the OP, but I’m sure he’ll appreciate your kind response.

My old 2003 6.2 Murci was in the PH classifieds a few weeks back. No idea if it is still there.

bear in mind, Murci is just a development of the Diablo, which was a development of the Countach.

same basic chassis (tubing), engine enlarged slightly (6.2 from 6.0), brakes etc carried over from late Diablo on early Murcis etc.

Sure.
But they feel very different to drive; they each deliver a different experience.
