There is more on Furlonger's instagram page including videos of the engine going back in if you are interested. Sorry but I've no idea how to post videos on here. As you can see from their site we've done an awful lot to it to get it into mint condition and just a full repaint to go and then the refurbished interior to go back in. It makes it sound like it was in rough condition but it certainly wasn't as it's only done 18,000 km but I wanted to make it absolutely top drawer before I sold it.

This is what it looked like before we started:

Lovely car red wing, Wondered if you could tell me the best meets to go to this year from a coffee and bacon sandwich to a big event, I need a destination!

See a list of main events here: https://www.lamborghiniclub.co.uk/ClubLife/FutureE...
Plus there are smaller local meets organised as the year goes along.

I have another couple of weeks to go. There will be plenty of photos once it's done and maybe a video or two. I think one of the better youtubers is going to take it out and I'll post the link on here!

It in the paint shop as we speak but it has also had a total overhaul. Really can't wait to see it! It should really be spectacular when it's done. The guys down at furlonger have gone right through it. I know I won't want to sell it once it's done! Lol

Sorry that this is a reply soooo long after the original post, but I can confirm that the 1NKO number plate has been owned and continues to be owned by the same person that purchased it as part of the deal from Roger Phillips showroom back in the 1970’s. Sadly it is no longer on a Lamborghini, but any photos/magazine articles since then would have had the plate superimposed onto the vehicle. It has always been owned by my dad and has not been used for any marketing/advertising purposes since he purchased it.

Back in the 90,s a mate was having a mobile car phone fitted to his countach the guy pointed out to him that when removing the interior trim centre console the trim was fitted with strips of metal to line up the panels kinda like a bad kit car he later sold it . many years later when driving my countach fast down a B road the trottle stuck open when driving into a fast down hill section quick panic I pulled the throttle pedal back with my hand . When removing the centre panel to tighten the throttle linkage I saw what he was taking about ! also the linkage was just a tube with a pinch bolt no splind end so my size 12 boots were too much for the linkage . Great Italian enginneering let down by the hidden interor parts . .

As of last week, research shows there were 17 UK RHD 88 Countach QVs with side skirts (up from 16 and 14 previously quoted).

The thread has gone a bit quiet, so as Paul is curious, here is a list of all the RHD non-skirted UK supplied RHD Countach QVs.

All these photos are in the public domain as far as I know. Please let me know if not, and I can remove them.

These are in ascending order and are all definitely different cars. Any missing, questions, disagreements - do let me know.

If you know of a car that isn't here, please let me know - if anyone has a photo of E733KYL in red, I'd appreciate it. Damned if I can find sight or sound of that car.

EY733KYL (E733 KYL), was issued by Portman Lamborghini when the car was first registered, very shortly after ownership I changed the number to LAM 443, which it has to this day, I sold the car in 2015, LAM 443 can be seen on various websites.

I remember a conversation with a pal some years ago when he worked as an optician in Liverpool. One of the technicians in his place was ex army who then got into property and eventually had two Countaches back in the late 80s/ early 90s.

Hi, thanks for this. I found LAM443 for sale on Car and Classic website, then a photo at Iain Tyrell’s place and figures out from dvla that it was this car. Then Graeme Hunt has it for sale chassis number and number plate all included in the ad, so I pieced it all together. One question - I thought the car was new to a father, then sold in 2015 by his son? Is that true? Hope all is well. Even when GH sold the car, it had a great provenance. Robert

Didn't the band Five Star have two Countaches? I know they had one for sure and Denise or whoever it was couldn't drive it as hadn't passed their test at the time.

I seem to recall a white one bearing the band name as its plate? And the old man then had another 5 Star style plate on a Rolls?

I believe this was Denise Pearson's 88.5, F925OYR in front of it, at the back of Portman's.

I am the father and I owned the car from new, even saw the car on the production line in 87 when the car was being made, I was in the Middle East in 2015 when Cheshire Classic Cars came on about buying the car, my son dealt with the preliminary negotiations while I was away and I finalized the sale when I returned to UK, broke my heart seeing the car being loaded on the transporter, I think LAM 443 was the only Countach with no rear fog lamp or radio antenna fitted, we removed these within the first month and had the holes filled in and we repainted with original PPG paint in our own body shop, although I see the rear fog lamp and antenna has now been retrofitted, (why anyone would want to listen to audio in a Countach, well!) when I ordered the car I ordered a second boot lid with no mounting holes for the wing, I mainly used the car without the wing, you could not count on one hand the times I used first gear, mainly pulled away in second, I'm pretty sure I still have some new parts for the car somewhere.

Regards,

Barry. Emmerson
