Well then! Taking the hint from the other thread lets see your cars then!

I have a Series III , which was one of the 54 autos, now covered to manual.

There were about 6 RHD autos in the UK although i know there about 5-6 in Australia. I don't know how many of those were originally in the UK. At that time Portmans had the world wide franchise for RHD lambs so notionally they all came through them,

I picked up my car from Colin Clarke in late October after the work. He deals with or sees most of the ones in the UK. His guess about 35 around just now and about 50 left here although many coming out of hiding as values go up.

The restoration problem with Espadas is that the engine gearbox is the same to restore as a Countach or Muira; twice times the body work and three times the interior.

Hopefully we can do the same as we are achieving on the Countach thread and avoid the Ferrari chat issues: Pedantic detail issues; Slagging off cars; talking about values and sales all the time.

Love the look of these cars. First saw one in a feature in August's Octane magazine and it immediately went to the top of my wish list of dream cars.

Beautiful car Paul. I'm very fond of Espadas, particularly SIIIs as I was lucky enough to have a friend who owned one and had it fully restored by Colin Clarke back in the late eighties. I was also lucky enough to have a drive of it when I was just 18 years old! I'll post some pics of it, like you say maybe we can get a nice Espada thread going too.

Cheers

ps - I was the one chatting to you, offering the services of my Caterham, at Silverstone when your Countach became temperamental. What was the problem in the end??

hi

It would be great if you could post some pics of that car.

The problem with the car turned out to be a fuel relay! Simple cheap thing! Nothing of what anyone else said!

So here are a few snaps of the Espada my friend had. When he first turned up at my home in it (about 1987) it was owned by a friend of his, who he then persuaded to sell it to him. It was a fairly tatty car it has to be said so it went off to Colin Clarke for a full restoration - body and engine. At this time it was repainted the metallic blue.

After he sold I lost track of it until it appeared at the Silverstone events in the late noughties, now resprayed black and living up in the north of England. Still has the same dark blue interior.

...and just for the hell of it, here are a couple of snaps of you and yours Paul.

Funnily enough I recall just finishing parking up on the Lotus stand when I saw you approach from the distance. I had to rush to wrestle my camera out of the boot to grab a snap in time.

Steven

Thanks for those. It is really nice to see photos of me driving the cars. That was my first Lambo club event in the Espada. I will be at quite a few more in her now!
