My old Lambo photos from the 90s

For any Miura fans, there's a lovely old gentleman that occasionally brings his superb Miura down to the monthly classic meet I go to at Hertford Heath. He's very laid back about it all especially as it has a few times overheated on arrival as can be seen by the coolant on the ground in the one of the photos, something to do with air locks coming from the radiator in the front
He told me that he PXed an DB5 to get it many many years ago.

Thank you for that, my son was asking, they guy who lives there likes his fast cars, in google maps a few years ago he had a Porsche, later the pic I posted and now a Huracan Technica, but not being up on Lamborghinis I had no idea what it was, thank you again.Their current one :
Hi Nigel,
Great to hear from you.
Would love to chat but I no longer have your contact details….could you call me please?
No, I haven’t seen the Times article, so looking forwards to somehow getting a copy and seeing F920OYR in print.
F920OYR will be featuring on the front cover of the imminent ‘’ Lamborghini’s Holy Trinity - The evolution of the Countach, Diablo and Murcielago Bloodline ‘’ as well as the next edition of Crowood’s 1990 classic by Dron. Crowood, with Dron’s blessing, has passed the baton on.
F920OYR remains well and has been driven sparingly but regularly since you last saw her, usually in the very early hours of the day. Mike Pullen replaced a leaky oil seal and all the fluids the last time she went up to Sussex. She’s still on the original clutch, and the oxidation around the nose badge has maybe progressed about one mm in the last decade. I look at it as patina and with zero-restoration Countach’s being so rare today I almost feel an obligation to leave this minor blemish alone as its part of the car’s story and also tells of a maybe less than meticulous Sant’ Agata artisan who must have been slightly ham-fisted with his screwdriver when attaching the nose emblem.
We finally got to meet Marcello Gandini in September 2023 - which took 4 years to organise - and he was very generous with his time.
His and Giampaolo Dallara’s thoughts and statements re the Countach vs the Miura mean that we should reappraise our view of where the former stands within Lamborghini’s hierarchy.
Look forward to speaking to you soon, and Happy Easter everyone.

Good afternoon Path
It's incredible that you have had that Countach for 24 years plus the 13 years I had it ' so now 37 years old .
I will keep that page in the Times for you .
I have also found a video made in 1988 , I gave Portman permission to feature in it before it was delivered to me .
It features Alpine Hermes and Cartier and of course the Countach .
If you get in touch with Mark [Ferruccio] he has my Email address then we can swop phone numbers .

Reg NUR777 Countach S series 2 low body car. Circa very late1982/ early 1983, as next to it was the first Jalpa to the UK.. At the rear of the car under the script Countach it reads Portman in italic scripting.
Note wing mirrors and those early telephone dial wheels weren't actually by Route OZ.racing but by Campagnolo and if you look closely they are actually slightly different. Series one low body cars had the "Bravo"/Silhouette style wheels (by Campagnolo)..whereby the hole stuck out (And Gorgeous of course!).
Lamborghini made the switch just after this to OZ Racing and for some last of the line Countach S', then permanently to the 5000S models. Stunning, stunning, stunning car none the less!
Again apologies for the quality of my pictures...I'm taking them with my I-phone directly from my Albums and then transferring them here...

I bought NUR777 in I think 1986 from a second hand Rolls Bentley dealer in Essex , I drove it home on a wet winter's evening .
Quite an adventure with poor lights and rubbish wipers , not to mention finding the fuel filler .
The interior and exterior were both in good condition , but it was using a bit more oil than I liked .
About two weeks later the Rolls dealer rang me and told me someone else had seen the car and was very keen to buy it .
They put him in touch with me and he offered £1000 more than I paid for it .
He called himself black Tony and turned up at my house at the weekend ,I took him out in the car and he was very happy with it .
When he opened his brief case there was a gun on top of the cash . I just WOW , and he said you can never be too careful .
Will do Nigel - it’s time you saw F920 OYR again.
It’s 23 years and 10 months since I became her temporary custodian, but about 27 years since I first started looking seriously for a Countach.
One of the things that stood out during the search was that I wanted a one owner car, non-Anniversary car, and back in 1999, 2000 and early 2001 so many dealers told me that this was an impossible ask.
One told me that my best chance of getting a one owner , non-Anniversary car was sourcing one from Saudi Arabia but that I should then expect to find lots of desert sand not only in the cabin but also within the cylinder bores.
Jason Barker, who was then the sole Lamborghini salesman at the then sole UK Lamborghini franchise ( Lamborghini London - an HR Owen subsidiary ), finally came up trumps.
It was almost certainly Jason who collected the car from you in early May 2001, when, if I remember correctly, you were living in Norfolk.
And it was Jason who introduced me to her -I set eyes on F920OYR for the first time at the HRO’s Old School Lane workshops on the 26th of May 2001.

And Nigel you must come and see your other one which I bought off you in 1993. It’s 23 years and 10 months since I became her temporary custodian, but about 27 years since I first started looking seriously for a Countach.

You put a small add in the Sunday Times.
Del Hopkins always told me not to buy a car without him checking it over.
He called me Monday to see if I wanted your car checked over and I told him I’d bought it.
I ask you if a banker’s draft would do - it was the old days - and she said as long as it was from a sensible bank.
I headed up the M4 back to Hampstead and I will always remember that drive.
Sorry that I haven’t fixed that up yet, but you know what life can be like sometimes……….
Path and Mrs Path have been here when he was penning his Diablo book.
There’s still a Malvern Tyres in Highworth and I get them to do my tyres and batteries!
Thank you Ferruccio and Nigel - I,ve just emailed both of you.
Yes, it was a different world back then.
When looking for a Countach I told Jason Barker of Lamborghini London that I wanted a one owner car.
When he finally found, almost 3 years later, Nigel,s car, he informed me of F920OYR on a Monday morning but I couldn’t go up to London to see it until the Saturday.
Jason reassured me that he would hold the car for me until then.
Would that happen today?
And by the time I saw it on the Saturday afternoon Lambo London’s clerical staff had left and I couldn’t leave a deposit.
Jason reassured me that he would hold the car , as well as the price we had agreed upon, for a week.
The next day F920OYR was advertised in the Sunday Times for about 20% more than the aforementioned price.
Jason kept his word, and I paid the agreed upon price on the Wednesday.
Much later Jason told me that he had received more than 2 offers at the Sunday Times price.
Would that still happen today?
