I'd go PS4S, my McLaren friends, and any friend with a performance car rate the PS4S and have all switched to them. I had them on my daily and they are very good.
Great pics ..... Change all 4 for Michelin PS4S the difference is quite staggering particularly in the wet, these tyres are a generation ahead of everything else just like your Mclaren great thread and nice to see some real-life ownership experiences posted. I saw a 540c parked up on the weekend and was amazing by the sheer presence of it and this being what McLaren consider to be the 'entry-level' car!
The corrosion doesn't look pretty but atleast the dealer is taking full ownership and a no-stress to you approach to sorting it. I recall the Gen 1 Audi R8's also suffering from corrosion issues on the front bonnet and wings which were also aluminium panels. However the experience from Audi was totally hit and miss as to whether they would sort it under the paint/corrosion warranty cover.

Hi Justin.
Did you contact any of the sales team rather than just deal with the service department for the warranty and getting a BMW?
I would of felt confident that if you contacted Lee and told him your car was going in but you were thinking about upgrading he would of given you something tasty...i have a few friends down here with McLarens and that is what happened with them...heck one if them got a 720 for 4 days and he doesn't even have a McLaren.
It's not like your fibbing as you have posted already you were thinking of another one.
Even though you now have the BMW it might not be too late...

Onto Glasgow and dropped the car off, thankfully we did a quick inspection when I arrived as Scott noticed a couple of other areas of corrosion that I hadn't spotted .
Looks like this for any other owners worried -

Being honest when I bought the car I was expecting to have a few issues. I don't mind it as long as the dealership are good in looking after you, which Glasgow have been. I'd quite happily buy again from them no issues. The corrosion doesn't look pretty but atleast the dealer is taking full ownership and a no-stress to you approach to sorting it. It's a 2017 car ^
I was hoping I'd have avoided the corrosion but not to be...

In my experience if you don't ask you don't get had my Aston serviced in April at Hatfield and got a 570s Spyder as courtesy car for the weekend, of course they recognized that I'm a potential Mclaren customer but I made of point of asking if the could sort me with one.

Yeah in fairness I could have asked, I dealt direct with Scott in servicing. Never needed to ask with Aston before though. Maybe next time.Did you contact any of the sales team rather than just deal with the service department for the warranty and getting a BMW?

^Fair point, although not much the can do about historic problems other than sort them satisfactorily

Hi Justin
Any updates on when you might be betting your car back ?.
Enjoyed reading your updates and the outstanding pictures.
I'm hoping Friday which would be two weeks total including the service. I probably could have got it a bit quicker but we've got our first baby due next week so not in a massive rush Any updates on when you might be betting your car back ?.

Unfortunately the car is delayed due to PPF still to be applied. Hopefully see it home next week at some point and I'll update the thread justin220 said:

Hi
Hope you have the car back now and all is well.
I look forward to your pictures and updates on how things are going.
I really do need to get myself into a Mclaren sooner rather than later..........................

Great time to jump into the market though, plenty of choice at great prices
A very nice car and interesting read.
I had been looking for an r8 v10 plus but just out of curiosity I went to view a 540C at Glasgow this week but it was sold before I got there, drove a 570s instead and looked around a few. I specifically asked about the corrosion issue and was told 10 years, no quibble panel replacement/re paint as required.
The whole Dealership experience was very good I thought. So I’m now on the lookout for a nice 540/570 .

You can't really go wrong. Just comes down to budget, then which model you prefer. Then picking spec Am43 said:

Glasgow are great. Slightly disappointing to read what you've said as I asked to trade in against a 570 or 720 but told they couldn't do anything. Lots of stock at the time. I'll post more when I get a chance to update this thread d properlyI had been looking for an r8 v10 plus but just out of curiosity I went to view a 540C at Glasgow this week but it was sold before I got there, drove a 570s instead and looked around a few.
