Residuals, Man Maths and a 540C
Discussion
Had a good run out this morning, a good 50 miles or so in next to freezing conditions. Chuffed how much of a difference the new tyres have made.
Parked up next to an Alpine A110. What a cracking looking car. If this had been out when I bought the Evora, I think I would have been tempted. Its tiny though, makes the 540C look very wide! The owner wasnt around, would have liked a nosey around it insude
Really need to get round to washing it..
I've had my trip computer running for just over 2k miles now and very impressed with the average mpg

Just thought I'd post a long overdue update on the 540C.
Still going strong and no issues to report thankfully, as I approach the 10k mark.
I've been using the car as often as possible recently which hasn't been a huge amount due to J220 Junior although he has been out a couple of times in it.
It still amazes me the amount of attention the car gets wherever you go. People waving, flashing lights, thumbs up.. And it's almost impossible not to be asked a few questions at the petrol station!
I've been on a few training courses recently meaning I could take the car, and the view coming home tonight was superb..

I've also signed up for the Mclaren Glasgow trip to the Isle of Man, so I'm looking forward to getting the car round the TT course Anyone else signed up?

Great to read your update and good to hear all is well.
I am slowly getting used to mine more and more. I try and use the car every weekend even if it’s only for a 25-30 mile drive. Until I get more confident I am only driving the car in automatic mode in active sport mode at present once we get some warmer weather I will start using the paddles and might even try the track setting.
My car has new Michelin PS4 on the rears and Pirellis on the front that have plenty tread still on them.
I am thinking of putting PS4 s on the front or am I ok leaving the Pirellis on until they are ready for changing ?.
As soon as the weather gets better as promised I will get some pictures up.
I cannot believe how lucky I am and what I was able to purchase a car like this for with a full 2 year Mclaren warranty.
I absolutely love it . The way it drives and the way it looks.

Nice one John, how many miles are you on now?
I'd highly recommend getting a road trip booked to get to know the car.
In tyres unsure, I haven't tried the PS4s but everyone raves about them. I'll be trying them next but still have some good life left in the fronts so waiting till they need done.

The PS4S' at the rear will do the bulk of the work for road driving, so the Pirellis out front should be be fine unless you are picky or have a steering wheel vibration from them. The PS4S' are better for cold/wet grip and give you a smoother, quieter ride - and no foam that can break away and cause the vibration.I am slowly getting used to mine more and more.
