I have Michelin on mine, and still have warranty work being done - I'd be surprised if they refuse to renew the warranty just because of tyres - it's not like they're covered anyway!
Yeah I agree Dave but the problem is mine has slightly bigger wheels and tyres on it currently. 20/21" rims and 245/30 325/25 Michelins wrapped round them. It's how it came and the tyres are virtually new and it drives fine so I've left it like that. I have the standard wheels too but the tyres are getting towards end of life and nasty PZeros. I'm sure if I warranty through Thorney or AN Other they won't care about the rims but I'm sure Maclaren will not accept them?

It has confirmed I've made the right call getting warranty renewed. Even though the bill for those items will be less than the cost of the renewal, who knows what will happen in the next year.

As for the paint corrosion, I wouldn't worry too much. It'll get fixed in time and in the mean time doesn't stop you enjoying the car. Look at it as a free respray when it gets done smile

Interesting one on the tyres, I was planning on swapping to the MPS4S next aswell.

I've emailed my local dealer enquiring about my service, warranty, keyless and dodgy wheels and this is what they've said about the wheels and tyres so far:

"4. The wheels are fine to stay on the car, however you cannot make a claim against the wheels if faulty and if you have a failed part due to the wheels being different then again a claim cannot be made, basically if a modified part can be determined to be the cause of a failed part then it's not covered.
As long as the wheels are the correct fitment etc, you shouldn't have any issues."

I've gone back to them mentioning that they are different sizes to standard and waiting for a reply.

He also said that all 540C's were keyless so it maybe a failed sensor but it works on neither door so I'm still half convinced it's been turned off confused

Sad day for me yesterday, but in almost three years the 540C has had its first 'Engine System Fault'.

First time it came on, the car wouldn't go out of 1st gear, so a stop start cleared it, but the fault came back in.

McLaren Assist were great but they, or the AA to be more accurate were unable to diagnose the issue on the driveway as their computer couldn't connect to the ECU.

So off it goes to McGlasgow to find out the issue. I'm hoping its just a simple sensor deciding to play up.

Ah man, that’s a sucker. Chances are it will be a sensor or some technical glitch ...

Good luck. Enjoy your 720s courtesy car

Funnily enough mine threw a "Transmission Fault" error a week ago while sitting in traffic waiting for a train to cross. I put it back into gear and it came up and put me into limp mode and only odd gears available. Drove it the short distance home and turned it off and locked it for half an hour and it's been fine since!!

Hopefully yours will be fixed soon and is only a sensor smile

I'm hoping so, its thrown a fault code that McGlasgow haven't seen before, and has reset so more testing required..
