Well scanning the cars for sale this morning this one has had it’s priced changed again, last month 125k this month 102k!
It always seems to be behind the rest of the field considering the white one has now been dropped down to 93k
I’m sure it will have another price increase before Christmas, clearly they have had to use the 20k they had stuffed in the glove box for Christmas presents.

Offer them £97k to allow for getting a mac warranty put on it as soon as the dealers liability in 6mths ends...
You know you want to....
Its 4k/yr for the warranty, and my feeling is that this is built into the current price. 3 years at least. As is the red interior.
I think you are referring to Davek's issues of which the most serious seems to be a seal leading to a leak that damaged the climate control module now being replaced?
OTOH, I can count several others including myself who haven't troubled the warranty.

Well, I have watched the antics that Tagliatelli Cars have been up to with this car for a while. The conclusion I have reached is that I simply would not ever spend any money or trust this dealer to sell anything of mine in the future. These guys are plainly ridiculously inept. I mean, what on earth are they playing at? Matt Allwright will be investigating....

I mean the tomfoolery with the pricing of this car is insanely stupid tbh
If you can't sell a car like this at a discount in Chichester you can't sell it anywhere.millionaires enclave where the idea of mid-afternoon fresh air is driving ones replica WW2 plane off the run-way after a two hour lunch.
I just don’t understand why any reputable car dealer or any business of that matter play with the price of their stock so much.
The lowest the car has recently been advertised for sale for by this garage is £102,900 which in my opinion near its retail value if it had a warranty and being sold by Mclaren. Why on earth would they then suddenly increase the price up by another £23,000. What suddenly makes them think on say a Tuesday morning that the cars now worth far more money.

It generates publicity whether we see it as poor business sense or whatever, it's getting people talking about it and you never know someone on her might just buy it, as long as they don't pay over £102900.00 though.
Anyone oblivious to this pricing fiasco and pays more than this and stumbles across this thread ain't gonna be happy!

Well I personally wouldn’t even consider buying off this car dealer now that I have seen how they act, very poor business imo. Anyone oblivious to this pricing fiasco and pays more than this and stumbles across this thread ain't gonna be happy!
Agree someone may take the hook they keep throwing out there, but if I’m being honest I can’t see many people wanting to put even £100k in that used car dealers pocket for this car without a full Mclaren inspection and 1 years Mclaren warranty.
No matter what dealer has tried to sell this car over the last year or more it’s always looked expensive compared to others which have been for sale at the same time, which I thought must of been down to the owner wanting to much money for it.
They apparently own the car so it shouldn’t end up in another independents so they either keep it for there own pleasure or have to price it to sell in this currently difficult market.
What are people’s thoughts on what they may of paid trade for it, they have had it for around 3 months from memory.
Would I be correct in thinking this may have a trade value around 80k to 85k?

To be fair, trade price shouldn't be a consideration when your thinking on buying.Any car that you buy today, whether it be new or used, shall have a dramatically different price from what you pay for it and if you went to trade it in tomorrow against something else.
Even in such cases when you are in the fortunate position to purchase at 'trade prices' as myself and ferdi p managed, you are only ahead if the game for a period of time....its taken nearly 8mths but only now are 650spiders appearing at the price i paid, and by by late spring, early summer the price ferdi p paid for his 720 shall be the norm.

The reason I ask the question is many cars are not moving unless priced attractively. It’s has also become very hard to sell cars privately. In the last few years when i have wanted to change a car I have normally posted it on PistonHeads with a manufacturers warranty on it and priced it between the trade offer I received retail prices. These would of normally sold in a few weeks. I have tried this recently with 2 cars and neither have sold. All I have received is would you like me SOR the car for you emails.
So the reason I ask the question this garage has said they own the car and it not SOR so they would of bought it at what they thought is a fair trade value and I’m sure they would of already been aware around 4 more other independents failed to sell it at what they thought were fair asking prices at the time. They must of bought it very well knowing it’s been left unsold for over a year and moved around a lot?

Is it normal for used car dealer to mark SOR cars as sold on their website when they get returned back to it owner as they failed to sell it? Is it also normal for dealers to make out they own a car when they don’t? I guess it’s tactics like this which give certain independents a bad name.
When having a cuppa and on the web this morning I have noticed this car is up for sale again, this time at another independent. Price has shot back up to a whopping 125k!
