650s spider (very low miles, high spec, immac)
570 spider (new, ok spec)
570 coupe (new, very high spec)

or push it to £170k-180k

720s
657 coupe (maybe a bit more money needed)
600 (maybe a bit more)

Lots of choices, all great cars.

None of them, they are all losing money crazy fast!

720S will be 150k in a few months, you watch, as low as 130k this time next year.

570S several will be under 100k soon!

Hold out, prices are falling and Mclaren are been hit hardest, they have massive amounts of stock of new and used cars not moving.

I’m also in the market, probably for a 570S Spider (or perhaps coupe). Prices have been steady since January when I started following them but there is a fair bit of stock that isn’t moving - some cars have been around for 6 months and have dropped 10K+ in that time.

Bid them low, 570S Spyder, offer 130k one will bite stock is not moving.
570S regular, BID 100-110k, again stock is not moving!

I know the car on autotrader at 99k, started at 117k back in December, they keep dropping it and the car owes them around 90k I believe and they would take 95k, but they'd probably now take 90k to see it gone.

Be very aggressive when buying, there are loads of 570S and 720S for sale which are not selling, deals to be had. smile

I've owned all three, this would be my table with your budget:

New 570 Spider
Low mileage 650 Spider
Slightly duff spec 720

570 is a really fun car and the spider just makes it double special.

650 much the same but the handling on the 570 is a bit more entertaining. Plus the back end on the 650 is getting old quick.

720 ridiculously good value at 180 ish, fastest thing in the world but not being able to get the roof down really spoilt it for me.

Whichever way you jump you are going to have tons of fun.

Don't forget to come back here regularly and bh about depreciation.

What is the McL fascination for you Porsche fanboys/owners? - just interested, why you feel the need to come on here? - reckon you have an almighty inferiority/jealousy complex (like your cars nobody notices or loves them) that you have bought the wrong car and come on here to justify your poor purchasing decision.

Get out and enjoy your car and live with your decision smile

The OP didn't ask your opinion depreciation..........if you knew the OP, you'd know his history with the brand........I'm sure if he'd needed his thread derailing into another about depreciation, he would have PM'd TP321 and asked him to post up..............

Unless you really want a spider then surely holding out for an urgent-sale 720S is the best thing to do. Otherwise spend £100k on a 570S and enjoy.

All IMHO.

I don't own a Porsche, have not done so for around seven years. smile

I've been watching 458, Huracan, GT3, 570S and 720 values for a few months as one is the planned next purchase.

720S is shedding 5-10k per month in depreciation and rarely selling.
570S is sheeding 2-3k per month and stock is not moving.
458's are holding better and some are selling, these seem most stable and strongest.
Huracan values are slipping, Performante is getting hammered and not selling.
GT3 991.1 have come down, several cars under 100k, can't see them moving much under 90k.
GT3 991.2 are due more a tumble, can see them 120-130k soon.

I've been watching since October, in October there was not a single 720S under 200k, now JZM have one listed at 170k and rumour suggest they will take 165k, that is 35k drop in 3 months on a used 720S.

570S will all 115k plus, they are now advertised under 100k and swapping hands in the 90's.
570S Spyder, were 145k plus, holding better but they do not seem to be selling at all.

Safest cars value wise are 991.1 GT3 and 458 if purchased well.

I'd love a Mclaren but I shall wait until a 570S is 80k and a 720S is 120k, can see both happening in around 12 months time. Considering MP4-12C are trading hands in 60-70k region, I am not exactly been unrealistic.

Lol, surprised it went as long as it did!

Surprised at a suggestion of a new one though, I assumed that the adage of buy a Mclaren second hand is well received.

I'm looking for a 720s but at £150k, had a few close but not yet, I will wait smile

It feels like it won't be that long, but if it does happen it will push down the 570S Spider and Coupe. There seems to be around a 20K gap between 570S Coupe and Spider, and a 40K gap between Spider and 720S.

Find the one you like and make an offer?. See how they respond? Negotiate. Nothing to lose really. You could be lucky. Hopefully.
