how was THJ to deal with?
A gentleman Given this was the cheapest car they had in stock, the went over and above.
I imagine selling a LaF Aperta for £3M+ sets a level of expectation, let alone the classic stuff.
Car is freshly serviced, new mot, new tyres, fresh machine polish, full tank of fuel.
Got a really nice leather bound folder with the car which lays out all the paperwork methodically. Has a lovely McLaren logo shield with the unique vehicle chassis number, also a USB drive with the high res original advert photos.
So much so I’ve ordered one myself for my Project 8

This is why I'm so sceptical of online reviews.Given this was the cheapest car they had in stock, the went over and above.

Based on what's been posted previously, some would've run a mile before engaging with the dealer but proves not everything you read on the internet is true.

That is stunning and one of the best looking 12C's I've ever seen. CongratsIf I was to criticise it at all it would be I personally find the front end a little bland and dated compared with the P1 style 650S lights although I do prefer 12C's side double vanes over the single ones so its seems you cant have it all

Congratulations the car looks stunning, be interested to hear how it compares to the 650S ?
Initial impression is on the road they are very similarIt feels like the 12C is a little softer and soaks up poor roads slightly better than the 650S.
Power wise, doesn’t seem much in it.
I would imagine on a track the differences would be more apparent, however this isn’t my track car so that’s not an issue for me

Apologies, wasn't meant to offend but just a personal opinion and looks are subjective anywayI do hope that doesnt mean I've now offended all 12C and 650s owners alike.
As someone considering a 675LT or a 720S im sure there are some who don't love all elements of those cars either but I welcome their views, good ,bad or ugly

I prefer the 650s, which is why I bought one, but the 12c continues to grow on me.I do hope that doesnt mean I've now offended all 12C and 650s owners alike.

Of course, as always styling cues are subjective, but as mine is used on track, highly appreciate the very significant improvement in front end bite for high speed turn in with the 650 vanes in front. Front end grip is the biggest performance limiter on these cars, and it’s amazing how they’ve been able to improve it without huge protuberances.Keeping in mind I’m into Macs for their functional design and not empty styling, the 650 front end is highly appreciated.

Are you sure about this? I thought 12c and 650s same car? Better turn in for 650? Are you sure you simply didn't need to lower the front tyre pressures on 12c? Try any 911 by comparison lol!
Er - have you looked at the front of a 12C and a 650? Even apart from the lights, they're quite fundamentally differentIMI A said:

I did 2,000 miles in the 650S in the last month
They are fundamentally the same, but the 650 is an evolution in many ways.
The 650 feels like it pushed the envelope more towards the supercar end of the spectrum- and so when pushing hard on the road, or on track, you will very much appreciate the evolution.
If the average man in the street was to jump in both and drive it for an hour they really would think they were driving the same car for the most part.
Ultimately, I don’t think it’s any kind of competition- the 650 is the ‘newer’ car, has the latest design language and is more ‘supercar’ perhaps to the general public.
The 12C to me is a little more understated and less in your face, and as someone who won’t track it, being that bit less hardcore suits me absolutely fine
