Traders are telling me stock of normal
Cars is selling so quick and values going up and going crazy

Rolexes going mental
Property going mental

But yet 599s and 550s are cheaper than they were a few years ago

Nowadays an old Ford Cosworth or M3 csl has increased in value to a 599 or 550

So my question is....

Why is every investable asset going skyward and Normal cars are increasing yet the (in theory) V12 ferraris notably the 550 and 599 not really going up?

it's all supply and demand presently - if the demand is there, some people seem willing to pay up accordingly.

i know it sounds crass, but that is how it is - stock is low, demand is high - too much cheap money sloshing around. i doubt it will last very long, but who can predict when this silly scenario will end.

not really V12, but somebody bought the entire series it seems

Re values not sure, they cost quite a bit to run and are not really a great weekend car imo, more a good semi-daily driver. I suspect most people buying their first, used Ferrari are more likely to buy a red V8

And the manual 599 went up c 5-6x over the last 10ish years , the 599 GTO doubled in value, the 550 Barchetta tripled in value, the 550 doubled or even tripled over a few years - so it is not like they didn’t go up, just maybe not over the last couple of years - maybe fully priced after the initial increase until say 2017 / slight bubble territory at that point and no more takers at the increased prices due to the initial increase
