I've kept a check on 720S Coupes (only) on AT since 10th Nov last year:
10 Nov 43 listings Median price £155k
Today 40 listings Median price £150k

similar or larger drops in the mean, lowest, highest, 25% and 75% percentile prices since then.

These are all still fairly new cars so I guess a few % depreciation over four months is fairly normal.
Thanks that’s great and exactly the car I’m looking at. Do you know how many of the November cars are still for sale today?

I’d be interested in your view on prices over the last 12 months since this thread as I’m looking at 720s for me now. 58 x 720s on autotrader as I write this…. Cheers
I don’t watch the market in such a detailed fashion as Samoht however have been checking for the last 2-3 years.

Since last year prices, especially entry level, have eased and now some private sales are approaching £120k. However these are the older, red swoosh cars which did suffer from more quality/electrical gremlins but can be upgraded to the latest versions.

However, definitely a slight drop but you get a lot of car for your money. If you had £140k to spend, you be spoilt for choice in the chase for a supercar.

Interestingly that’s about exactly where I am. Do you have any recommendations?

These ten cars:

There may be the odd extra car that's been re-advertised with a new ad so isn't on this list, but probably only one or two.

Another way of looking at it is that I've seen about 110 different cars advertised since Nov and 40 still up, so about 70 sales in total in that time, or one car sold every couple of days.

It's worth noting that the URL in the ad generally tells you the date the ad was created, so usually a few days prior to it going live. This gives a decent idea of the age of the ad.

Bearing in mind I know little about the 720 as it's out of my budget, and I also don't know your tastes, but if it was me I'd start with a trip to Glasgow to look at this https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202303135...

It's a 2019 car so newer than others in your budget and after the 'silver swoosh' change that attempted to correct a few electronic issues.
It's a real colour so it'll look as exciting as it drives
It's a franchised dealer so you get 12 months McWarranty included
It's been up since Oct (McGlasgow unusually re-list their cars so this is a new ad for an old car) so they'd probably accept £140k for it.

For a 720s? Sadly not, my price range is a little lower so not actively looked at a 720s.

How ever if I was, I’d be going for a later model with the silver swoosh and would look to buy from Alistair Bols, Thorney or any car that’s been looked after by Thorney or V Engineering.

I noticed that for sale at the end of last year, in my eyes thats a lovely example, but not sold since October really surprises me.

Ive always been checking 720s ads for the last 2 years or more as thats where i would like to end up after the 570s, i dont see much change in £150k buying a nice one over that time.

Will they slide a bit when the 750s comes out is anyones guess, but prices in my opinion are firm.

To be fair, it's not been for sale since October at the current price, I think it dropped from 150 to 145k asking last month and was higher than that originally.

It being in Glasgow may also put people off a little, I guess.

But generally yeah seems a bit slim pickings below 150k, which is why that orange one jumps out at me.

At the price it seems good value, cracking colour in Papaya and a 2019 model year.

Mileage seems to have put a few folks off but those that know McLarens prefer cars with higher mileage as shows it’s been used.

720s can be daily used unlike most other Supercars

Guys, thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for the. Very helpful suggestions and guidance. I actually live on the west coast of Scotland and am just minutes off the phone to McGlasgow about this car
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202303145...
They also promised to come back to me with a cracking deal on a new car in flux green that they still have in stock
I’m away to scroll through these all now and mull it over. Thanks again for your help!

The white car is Muriwai White, which is meant to be quite good in person / sunshine, better than the standard white.

A brand new car would have the benefit of 3 year warranty which is not inconsiderable, I guess the used options you get 12 months extended.

I don't know enough about 720s to comment further, ideally you might be able to get along to McLaren Glasgow and see all their cars in the flesh, see what they really look like in person. I suspect you'd find yourself making a purchasing decision shortly thereafter biggrin

When I collected my car, Alistair Bols had a car in that colour. Although my general view would be that I wouldn't want a white car, I think I'd be happy with that colour. It was lovely.

I was very surprised when i was told it was Muriwai "white", it didnt even look white to me and im with you, im not a fan of white cars.

The one at Glasgow would have looked so much nicer with blue calipers and blue interior inserts instead of red, just in my opinion of course.

I assume buying a new 720 and looking at the depreciation over the first couple of years. However on the used market, there isn't a bigger bargain out there
