Now this fellas after a good Christmas by the looks, just increased the price by £10K !!! I mean you just wouldn’t would you ??.

Sorry ,, increased by £12K forgot it had been lower a couple of £K just a few days ago, should stick it back on CC to see what he gets for it..

Maybe he has had a few low ball offers and bumped the price to distract from chancers?

Seem to remember the seller listing a few issues with it when on CC,, amazingly (67) 720s for sale on AT, must be some sort of record

Thanks for clarifying. wink

So presumably out of the selling price the third party will get a Fee?

I would guess so!

I've noticed a couple of cars which were previously listed by dealers, disappeared, and have now re-appeared as private sales at lower asking prices. Presumably they were offered SOR, and have now ended up on the 'R' part of the acronym.

Back to prices; the following cars seem to have disappeared from AT since this Monday:

Now offered privately for £95k https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202211191...

Now offered privately for £86.5k https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202211221...

Not drawing any conclusions, just posting as a kind of 'correction' to the previous assumption that they had sold.

I hope whoever bought it is fully aware of these issue, to say the sellers agents comments are misleading is an understatement , doesn’t look good on CC either selling cars such as this one on their site,
Who knows, they might be and feel the 20-30k discount compared to rest of market covers their risk.
They may not and be very upset and even more upset if they cannot get their 6k back from CC.

The problem is people see an auction and bid on it, they win and feel they got a great deal.
But if I they see the car advertised say on AT or PH say at 129k then alarm bells are ringing as to why its 20-30k below rest of market.
Unless I am doing something wrong, I can't seem to find the McLaren 600LT in the SOLD section of CollectingCars. Perhaps the buyer learnt more about the car and pulled out of the sale? or it is infact sold but CC don't want their reputation tarnished knowing they have been selling cars like this on their website?

Hi there

As there is quite a bit negativity around the brand I thought I'd share my positive example this morning.

Gave Mclaren Manchester a call a couple of weeks ago about my 600 LT Spider having an in cabin resonance when the roof was up which to me sounded like a heatshield come lose in the engine bay and also mentioned the front arch liner had come loose.

They collected the car end of last week and then prompty got it on their ramps:

Picture service manager sent me on whatsapp.

They confirmed the heatshield was loose and an undertray slightly out of position. They ordered the parts in and correct these, they fixed the arch liner and then gave the car a health check along with pressure testing the coolant system and checking all the hoses and clamps looked in good condition, all passed.

Car returned to me this morning, all hassle free, all free of charge and even a box of mints put in the car.

Amazing service by Mclaren Manchester and Sam their service guy really is a superstar, Praise when praise is due and all that! smile

It's good to read these types of posts - all too easy to post negative stuff and over the last couple of years I've seen videos less than complementary of McManchester.

Considering the 675LT thread that was deleted earlier this week, does seem to be good and not-so good dealers but you get that with every brand I guess.

While the listing isn't browseable, the page is still up at the original URL as quoted below:

The page shows Ended/Unsold, but the page markup still has 'pricesold' of £115k. So presumably after the auction ended, the winning bidder declined to go through with the purchase for whatever reason.

Did you have any more info on the 78.5k 570GT at Sytner select being the cheapest on sale?

I think the vast majority of owners have a positive experience, i certainly cant fault Mc NewForest at all on the service they provided, absoultely impeccable in my mind.

Most of the negativity is from non owners who heard it from a mates next door neighbours postman, or clickbait chanells like Jayemm, sure his pals didnt get a good experience by the sounds of it, but, it doesnt represent the majority.

Thats the trouble with todays society, the minorities want to shout so loudly about every little thing they dont like about the world.

I think it is the Internet that causes half the problems - so much easier to vent on Social media and find other people's venting.

We must be the luckiest car owners in the world, we took a MR2 roadster to 100k and it didn't eat it's precats, ran a Maserati Gransport for 6 years without needing a recovery truck, put 6 figure mileage on a manual Diesel with no DMF failure, and have had a Z4M for 5 years that hasn't eaten it's rod bearings or VANOS or spat us backwards into a hedge.

Still don't feel lucky enough to risk McLaren's paint quality though frown

Sorry, nothing more than what I already wrote, I don't have any insider information I'm afraid; it's listed on PH but not on AT so no obvious way of knowing its listing history.

Sports Series weekly market update since Sat 19th:

14 cars sold and 20 new listings on AT, so still more cars coming to market than taken off although 3:2 rather than 3:1 last week. As above, two of the 'new' listings are private sales that were previously listed (presumably SOR) at dealers; one sold car was previously 'sold' so presumably re-listed.

Of the six 570S coupes sold, four are in the £90-93k bracket. One of the two £100k+ cars is the Vega Blue 2019 mode that Streetbeat picked out last week, so obviously he's in tune with the market. I can't explain why the 14k mile 2017 model at Brookspeed was worth £105k to someone, unless they really like the factory aero parts it had.

Two Spiders sold at £105k, almost the cheapest available, plus a 2020 car at £115k (Dick Lovett). 600LTs again two towards the lower end of the price range.

Two 570GTs sold, both later ceramic-braked cars listed over £100k. And apparently someone paid £100k for a white 2019 540C.

Price reductions across the board; biggest drop is £10k off the blue Spider at George Kingsley, but was well overpriced at £135k previously. I do think the 570 Spider market has slid down a touch, unsurprisingly.

My car of the week is an example of this, a nicely specced 2017 Spider reduced to £105k on 20k miles (click for ad):

Another interesting car: a 540C on 55,000 miles - seems v poor value to me, like most 540Cs, but proof these cars can take miles.

Overall I'd say sellers seem to outnumber buyers, so if you want to sell then your car needs to represent good value relative to the rest of the market, and the trend seems likely gradually downwards as we head into the Christmas period.

Not sure if I'll keep doing this, it can be time consuming trying to unwind re-listed cars etc and seems like mostly a re-statement of the obvious, good value cars sell, poor value ones don't smile

I know the yellow car at Steel City - looks absolutely fantastic in the pictures but like so many McLaren cars it looks even better in the flesh. Sicilian Yellow instead of Volcano might make you think it doesn't pop but it does.
