Currently considering an X power having driven one today. Seen a deal on PCP at £399 deposit and £399 per month. What are people's thoughts on this? Seems a decent price compared to others around and also better than leasing. This is based on 48 months and 6000 miles per year
Hi

Around £2700 in interest charges?
Tesla & Polestar PCP are both 0% at the moment.
Making the MG around the same price as the Tesla 3 in reality..

Whilst true even the X-Power "total amount payable" on finance is still over £800 less than the cheapest Model 3 (RWD), which is significantly slower.

it definitely makes it something to consider, but it's not a like-for-like comparison in performance terms.

We're looking at getting a second-hand Trophy as a family car. Probably a phase-1 car. Anything in particular to look out for?

For anyone interested, just applied and been accepted for a brand new, 0-miles MG4 XPower (24 plate).

£36.5k list, 35% discount applied comes to around £24.3k (matte green paint). Incredible value for money considering the comfort, performance, usability and running costs.

Nice, where was that deal?

EDIT: Ah, 24 plate - so not a current deal as such.

Every MG dealer in the country has been sent the promotional material for 35% discount off through MG4 line-up; 45% off the MG ZS line-up - discounts run until end of March.

My deal was with Budgen Motors in Telford. Head salesman is close family - ask for Sean.

You can be certain to get one that doesn't vibrate above 65mph

Interesting. Some sort of problem with the front drive unit? Or did they mess up suspension calibration on the XPower?

Driveshaft excitation

Requires these parts to actually fix it - MG UK are in complete denial

Dumb question but what does this actually mean in practice? How does this problem manifest? Would a layperson notice it?

By the looks of it, heavy vibration (feeling much like a poorly balanced wheel) at motorway speeds.

You get used to it to the point that it's not an issue.

It's akin to sticking a 20p to your wheel but the frequency is maybe double.

I genuinely don't notice it now.

Describing it as a heavy vibration is a gross over exaggation.

On the off chance you're anywhere near Doncaster I'd take you put fir a spin. I doubt most passengers would notice.

The forums seem to imply that cars vary dramatically in severity, from the majority having no issue at all to some feeling horrible. I suppose that might be simply different owners have different sensitivity to it though.

When we test-drove one (which I think would have been a 2023 car) I certainly didn't notice anything.

That's an assumption on you part and wrong

Mine vibrates through the seats, steering wheel, dash and is frankly unpleasant

One of the supposed "fixes" (that isn't) - the steering wheel damper made it worse

MG are by the far the worst Company/ dealership I have ever dealt with
