It was a weekend of showers really, except for the Saturday late afternoon about 5.30pm when a godawful storm swept through Arnage/Mulsanne. I was elsewhere and had to park the car it was so heavy. Couldn't see a thing. Sunday had showers but was mostly dry. Cold in the run up to the race, acceptable during it but certainly not a scorcher.

Let’s hope september is what we all hope for.

Out of interest did anyone notice if it rained on the sim race it was supposed to use local weather!

I had also hoped they could have put in real time (Le Mans) weather changes. That would have added a great deal of realism.

There was meant to be scope for variable weather but there didn’t seem to be any changes.

I also think the GT cars should simply have had the same performance levels and it is down to set up and driving, rather than having BOP in a virtual world. I assume the LMP were all on that basis and that was very close.

... slightly drifting from weather thread.

Clearly they wanted it to look lovely on the sim to attract us to the real thing. Would have looked very unappealing in the pouring rain.

Something else that wasn't realistic on the sim.

Are there any other people there? Must be very quiet, and very strange

The BBC forecast usually add snow and fog, just in case.

But it is from France

It's like the grave. Everything you expect to be buzzing is empty or closed. See my post on Spectator Announcement.

Lots of rain and a few thunderstorms (Saturday worse) and just 5 LMP1s plus 12 hours of darkness. LMP2 for the win!?

Time to revive old faithful.

Any chance of a cat forecast for this year? I know I'm not going to get there but we're at least going to Brian's gig at Silverstone so will be all over it.

Good grief, just one post on this thread in one year! My seaweed predicts that as from tomorrow the sun will be returning after six weeks of rain. It will then stay rain-free until after the race with average temperatures around 25C. However, my seaweed bows down to the superior sagacity of the cat.

I know. I only tend to turn up on PH a couple of weeks before the main event and tend to stick in here.

There are other weather prediction services?

I miss the updates from that amateur weather man with the multitude of maps. Gaz wasn't it? first forecast.2 weeks before quali and then updates every 2 days..

Day 1 - showers
Day 3 - scorchio
Day 5 - epic rain
Day 7 - scorchio
Day 9 - snow

Week of the race, sunny with a bit of rain (it always rains at le mans). Its class that Gaz (or gav?) Keeps us on our toes like that smile
