Lots of talk of ‘large gatherings’ either being cancelled (see Geneva Motorshow), or potentially under threat (see Euro 2020, Tokyo Olympics, F1 etc) - what do we think are the chances of the ACO either choosing or being forced to bin the race this year?

I actually think it’s a scenario people need to prepare for - I wonder how campsite refunds etc would work?

Lots could happen before June.
Could be considerably worse or better.
Who knows ?

we’ve held fire on our glamping payment this year precisely because we’d rather be in the position of having the money on our account, as opposed to arguing the toss about refunds due to some small print or technicality. Doubt we will have any issues booking either as places are not exactly limited.

A couple of hundred thousand people coming.from around the globe to crowd together for a few days and then disperse isn’t looking too clever at the minute

The Chinese have an antidote, apparently, and their number of new cases is going down, if we can trust their figures

We're not quite at the stage where all international sporting event are being canceled, but if its not sorted within a couple of months, we have a problem.

I think Coronavirus is the least of my worries. Just need to avoid the food poisoning from undercooked bbq chicken, the lung cancer from too many Cafe Creme, the liver disease from too many Biere33, the perforated eardrum from listening to a V8 at 4500 rpm for hours on end, the heart disease from daily steak & frites, the broken jaw and torn mouth from crusty French bread. Corvid19 would be a nice relief.

Given the pace of recent events, I reckon the next two weeks will be the decider.
While the death rates seem low, the current climate of fear & precaution will win.

You forgot the waking up with a fuzzy head, throat that feels like sand paper and a quesy stomach, not sure what that virus is called but it always seems to be very common in the campsites

It will be the middle of summer and flu like viruses don’t cope well with that. I don’t think it will be around much after April. If it is still going by then god help us all. We will have much bigger problems to worry about

I see that next weeks Geneva motor show has been cancelled. The Swiss have banned all gatherings of over 1000 people

Lol...Cognitive dissonance at its best!

How comes you’ve never had an issue with placing your a**e on a toilet seat sat on by lots of other a**es and not to mention your tackle brushing up against the bottom of the seat lid? How about those with herpes or c*ck warts who were on that seat before you eh?

It’s in July, it’ll be all over and on to the next thing that is going to wipe us out by then.

It's not me who's making the decision though, there's events being cancelled all over the place

If Olympics and then first half of F1 season cancelled then could postpone Le Mans and provionally hold it early October (switch from Monza WEC round when most teams/drivers already booked) if all cleared up once spring/summer weather in Europe, a bit like 1968 when held at end of September due to strikes and civil unrest.

LM Classic would probably be bounced to 2021.
