Will it even go ahead?

The travel ban put paid to the WEC race at Sebring, and would have stopped a fair proportion of the 12 hours drivers and team personnel too.
It also stops all our party going as we've all been in the EU in the last 2 weeks.
How’s it looking on the refund side or have you lost that money? It also stops all our party going as we've all been in the EU in the last 2 weeks.
Not sure yet, going to try travel insurance, netflights and maybe my credit card company for the flights, someone else booked the accommodation, hopefully their insurance covers it, tickets are unclear, last I looked they were just saying they were valid for November, also got NASCAR tickets for Homestead, they're talking about a credit which can be used for any NASCAR event in 2020 or 21, rather than a refund though which is a bit poor

I'd say its looking pretty unlikely LM24 is going to run in June.
Things aren't getting better anytime soon.
My son's overjoyed. Time off school, and if they reschedule to August - he gets to come along to his first Le Mans!Things aren't getting better anytime soon.
This could end up becoming expensive.
I'd rather they announced it sooner rather than later though.
I'll have to pay the balance for 1st Tickets this week - that's fine as it'll probably be rescheduled. But it's around this time I'd usually be buying the cheap train tickets - before the prices skyrocket.
Realistically - there's not a hope in hell of it going forward at this stage. I'm sure the delay is more about whether and when it can be rescheduled.

Before we get to Le Mans 24 Hour there is the moto GP in May, and that hasn't been cancelled yet.
I can think of loads of reasons to cancel the Moto GP but a germ isn't one of them.Amateur motorsport in the UK, looks like surviving, as its a non-contact sport, and the only spectators are your mum and dad and best mate, who would have the bug already. Signing on is done by email, and I have to soak the trophies in Dettol, everything else is done by loudhailer. Queues for the burger vans and bogs are forbidden.
Its all been worked out, we just have to scale it up

There is nothing to indicate this will simply disappear. The measures around the world are so unknown, this is serious. I thought it was scaremongering at first, I’ve changed my mind and also concerned.
I’ve already resigned myself to Le Mans not happening. I’d currently put it at 100% likely it will not happen.

Brittany Ferries have moored up a couple of their boats, and cancelled some routes to Spain and le Havre, and issued new rules for the staff, and put sanitiser everywhere. The French seem to be very strict
With the first few Grand Prixes cancelled, it looks like Monaco (24th May) will be the crunch point for us. If it goes ahead, so should Le Mans, but with McLaren quarantined, and Ferrari shut down, a lot has to change in the next couple of months

Although I suspect that for a lot of events them saying it is just postponed saves them having to refund people just yet.
(See also, this past weekend's association football matches, I had a ticket for Saints vs Norwich and they said straightaway 'no refunds until it is rescheduled')
Whilst having my daily stroll around the neighbourhood in lieu of catching the train to work, I had the thought of having a 'Le Mans 24hr and Classic double header', have the 2 events on consecutive weekends and get us punters hanging around town and spending money for longer than originally planned, maybe even have the practice day bundled in as well.

Spa postponed now.
Yep, fortunately the Novotel in Brussels have allowed the room to be moved for free up until Dec 31st and the Eurotunnel allow for changes up to 12 months after the booking was made. Tickets can be refunded if the new date cannot be attended, whenever that is announced. So at the moment not out of pocket.I've booked up with Travel Destinations. Balance due 1st April. Guy said if event cancelled or postponed we don't get our money back, we get credit to be used by end of 2021. I asked if that was legal and he said it was the ABTA rules, sounds a bit fishy to me. I 99% could make a postponed event or next year, but I want that to be my choice.
