Well...to help me with LM-not-happening-in-June Depression, I'm looking at upgrading the VR rig with a motion simulator:
https://dofreality.com/#h6
Approx £3.3k delivered. There is a cheaper one at £1.7k which is 3 degrees of freedom but I fancy 6.
Currently have a GT Omega racing cockpit with Thrustmaster TX Wheel and T3PA Pedals in GT configuration.
The rig is "old" in that I bought the GT Omega cockpit back in 2016. The Thrustmaster Wheel and pedals were originally purchased for Forza 5/6 and Forza Horizon 2 before I crossed over to VR.
Current VR goggles are the original HTC Vive, again bought in 2016. I currently have the Valve Index on order which is a higher resolution + wider FOV.
Recently upgraded the VR PC (built in 2016) from i7 6700k to i7 9700k which I have OC'd to 5Ghz. Also, upgraded the GPU from Asus GTX 1070 to Asus RTX 2080 Ti...not to mention other bits and bobs like cooling and RAM and MB.
Stuff like Project Cars 2, iRacing and Dirt Rally 2 run like a dream now and no need to screw about with settings too much. Although, I'm looking forward to moving on from the Vive because the screen door affect is becoming a bit of a pain for seeing further ahead on the tracks.
I just think that all I'm lacking is the motion simulator now. So may just go ahead and order one.

Will she also provide you with larger served in plastic mugs for eye watering amounts of money, and charging an extra £1 returnable deposit for the of said mug, you could then surprise her with a huge pile of said mugs (i must have 20 at least) and demand £1 for each.
If she makes a load of coffee now it should be at about the right luke warm temp for her to sell it to you for £3 per-half filled small plastic cup at 5am, for that "night racing at Arnage" experience.Oh the coffee.. what is the one thing you might want at 4am during a 24hr race? chips? no problem.. coffee? non. Had the worst coffee ever at TetR in a polystyrene cup late at night..
After realising that you get better coffee by ordering black and bringing your own milk I had a cunning plan for overnight this year - buy extra coffee to fill a flask in the evening for the tricky overnight period.. (I don't camp so no facilities of my own).. beautiful flask is sitting in my kitchen waiting... waiting...

I have a giant flask filled with Bailey's for Thursday night qualifying. It started with a perceived need to fool security, and turned into a ritual.
We bring a few tins in on Saturday night at around midnight to watch at Tetre Rouge for a couple of hours, at that time of night they don't even check our bags

And after the weekend has ended, you'll need to make sure you're in a foul mood for the next 2 weeks as you get over the fact the finest week of the year is over until next year.

I have to say I've never had ANY bad experiences with the Sunday night recyclers, so nothing to emulate there (random scroats walking through the campsites looking for easy pickings during the week, yes, but the Sunday drivers have always been polite and courteous, even asking if it was OK to take stuff in a pile a clear row over when we were the closest to it.).
If you're a Sunday night camper you'll need to get someone with a TVR, or similar and a load of scaffolding poles. Every 30min through the night the scaffolding poles should be thrown around for 15min, to recreate the breaking camp noises, followed by 10min of running the engine to warm it up before driving off. This will leave you the standard 5min of quite before the next group start and the whole process repeats

"Where's the Baileys???" at 8am.... that became the warcry for my english friends too.... Where's the baileys at any time you want a drink....
