Is anyone recreating this even at home . Gutted that we wont be off to france this coming week however we have purchased and had made up posters and t shirts to feel we are there .
I'm sure the great british weather wont fail us on the unpredictability at present.
Any one else intending to do this ?
Also we noticed it's not showing the complete race on t.v anyone know what chanel is ?

Motorsport.tv are streaming it and I expect it will be streamed live in all the usual places like twitch, facebook and youtube.

I've been casting the Supercars races to the big screen and watching them that way. Traditional TV is pretty much useless as far as the esports world goes.

Yes your right there .
We have a projector so will have it on the big screen hopefully in the garden with our deck chairs to give it the real effect.
Just received our personalised t.shirts and posters that we had made up.
I had seen that motorsports tv was showing it all including the consert so for £3.99 we have subscribed which is mad as sky is £90 a month yet covering minimal.

Enjoying it so far .... Bykolles on pole which is not realistic but after a few laps they got a drive through. Which is more so ! biggrin

At least it did not explode into flaming pixels.

Amazing that everyone has a enough bandwidth to actually do a 24 hour race and other techno items.

Well done them.

Is the weather tied into real world weather or will they put the rain on at 3am just for a laugh ?

biggrin

Interesting up to a point.

I wonder would it be feasible to do a Classic Le Mans - 1955 say - using this technology? You would have all the rawness and crudeness of the circuit of that period and the difficulty of driving 1950s cars with fragile components and not that effective brakes - all in complete safety.

Very impressive so far, very inmersive with all the build up and everything.

Think I heard that the weather will be linked to real world, but not sure if that's right or not.

I'm watching!

My younger brother Matt is part of the Rocket Zansho Team with Jenson Button. His first stint is at 19.50. Jenson has the car in 11th so far so its going well.

It's an impressive thing to get so many cars together from all over the world, with seemingly very little glitches so far, and the racing has been much cleaner than some of the other 'pro' stuff I've seen.

This is proving surprisingly good - there seems to be a great deal of professionalism from all the drivers and taking it absolutely seriously.

Better than the F1 and later IndyCar virtual races.

The 5 or so lap battle between the Porsche and Corvette was very realistic.

Perhaps Le Mans missed out on that, they could have done a warm up race over an hour of Ford v Ferrari or such from the old days

Still, pretty impressed so far.

49 cars still running so that is no realistic, but guess what, it's a good show so far ... says old bloke !

Just saw them nudging themselves on the Mulsanne chicane like they do in real life .. cool.

Of course the real problems happen at about 1am when all the esports guys have their mum storm into the computer study demanding they go to bed or else they will turn the wi-fi off !!!

Do you think this will result in mote LeMans virgins attending the next live race whenever that may be?

Or just more virgins?

Either way, this virtual race is better than nowt.

Not sure 55 would be a good idea!! I remember grand prix legends game from the late 90s, which had the old circuits in the old style. Would be amazing to have the same for endurance racing, on original circuits with the older cars...

Maybe early 70s, with an earlier circuit layout..and lets have targa florio too from the early 70s too!

I was on my way back to Le Mans from Paris and encountered a storm of such severity that I had to park the car on the hard shoulder. Apparently around 6pm it hit Mulsanne too. Did it virtually happen? I heard that they were incorporating the weather in the race, and this would have led to some quite severe accidents.
