Dripping out this information slowly softens the blow for the inevitable race behind closed doors. I don't really understand why so many people think they're going to let people gather in September. Even some events as far away as November have been completely cancelled - they'll not even be run behind closed doors.

I’m sure the Spa 24hr and N24 are planned for Sep/Oct with spectators, so not sure why LM24 would not happen if these events can.

I am not saying that true fans must camp, but that those i camp with and to be honest the vast majority of those camping are true race fans, in the same way that those staying in hotels can be true fans of racing, but a share of both are not there for the same reason that we are. I do not care what others think and neither should anyone else, i go to Le Mans because, even after 35 year i still love it, i love the race, the atmosphere and the people i meet each year both old friends and new ones. I also go to Spa and Silverstone for the WEC races.

Of course, that would make sense. But nothing is certain about Spa24 and N24 either. Everything else happening in sport suggests all will run behind closed doors, or perhaps even not at all (if competitors outside Europe can't travel for instance).

There’s no right, wrong or ‘best’ way to do Le Mans.

It’s what works for the individual/group. Whether that’s camping, hotel, on / off circuit, vip etc etc.

One of the things I love is everyone is there for the event as a whole. It doesn’t matter who you support or where you are from, everyone is there for the event.

The great thing is you can do different things every year and after many years still discover something that completely refreshes your experience of the event.

Everyone doing their thing is what makes the place special.

It is announced in today's paper that neither of the above will be held this year because of Covid. It would seem logical to think that Mulsanne will also cancel their event. Sorry folks.
Did La Maine not say the parade was 'threatned' of course I couldn't see it happen anyway

Just can't be Great Dane. Friday is now a race day, not a rest day, so no drivers will be available. Ergo, the Drivers Parade is cancelled.

According to the news foreign summer holidays are back for UK residents.

So clearly the world has gone mad, France is opening up, quarantine is out the window...and wave 2 is just a matter of time.

I think we might just be allowed to watch Le Mans at this rate?!

Im stockpiling bog roll from now

Today's paper gives the latest update from the ACO - for what it's worth. The ACO are determined that spectators will be allowed. They acknowledge that at the moment the maximum is 5,000 but then say the government has stipulated that this could change at the beginning of September, but saying that next week they will make another announcement indicating that the number will be somewhere between 10,000 and 90,000. If your head is spinning, I am not surprised.

What’s the situation with the red sausage supply in Le Mans?

Reading what the ACO is reported to be saying, I wonder whether they are trying to find a way whereby they won't have to refund those of us who have already paid for GA/camping/grandstand tickets, but who are unable/unwilling to attend the race in September?

Good plan - make it unattractive but they put the race on so no case for a refund

Red sausages? I trust you mean the lean mean and deadly spicy merguez. I bought some at the butchers today. Available everywhere, but if you want the best go to a butchers, not the supermarket. But look for rillettes in the butchers too, a beige tub with a red top. Speciality of the Sarthe and fabulous spread on a baguette.

I thought there was a cut off date for refunds, which was a few weeks back...or some point during late May?

I bought 6 x grandstand tickets direct from the ACO and applied for and got a credit voucher which can be used against next year's tickets.

I also had 10 x Houx camping tickets from Team Langoustine, any unused will be carried over to next year.

I will attend in September if there is any way we can get in. Maybe it will be ACO members only ? (I am)

I always assumed the first refund was to gauge interest for the September race, and if ticket holders can’t then attend in September they will also get a refund/ticket credit.

3 races, different countries so anything could happen...ie Germany's spikes in various regions / cities

Neither the ring nor Spa have said anything yet about plans for spectators that I've seen
