2021 - Don't get too excited

I can't see them running the LMC before the LM24 as they'd draw too big a crowd.
Running the Classic in September might allow them to re-organise the timings, run races earlier on the Saturday and one round of night races in the evening, stop overnight, restart at breakfast time as the sun comes up.

The chances of me making it in September will diminish as I’ve now had the Laon Historique moved from May to September and of course there’s the Goodwood Revival. Loan is a new one on me, think I’ll take a trip to that one....maybe on the way back from Circuit des Rempartscn7k7 said:

I went for the first time 2 years ago with a few friends- thoroughly enjoyed it. It was different because the central theme is you driving your car over the weekend which for me was quite novel as I normally drive to an event, park up and then at the end of it, 2 or 3 days later, drive home again! It makes absolute sense they would do this. I think it will be on 11th/12th SeptemberRunning the Classic in September might allow them to re-organise the timings, run races earlier on the Saturday and one round of night races in the evening, stop overnight, restart at breakfast time as the sun comes up.
Yes, who knows... Could be anything from locals only, French only, Schengen Area only, etc.
I was just thinking yesterday, if we Brits can't travel for whatever reason then someone could be onto a nice earner by running a 'British Le Mans' event with camping and a big screen (plus beer tent etc) over here somewhere.

Great news it isn’t automatic behind closed doors. Not ideal being on my wife’s birthday though!
However, I’m still going with only a 30% chance it will not be behind closed doors at the moment.
We will see.
Going to allow the vouchers to refund from last year and buy a couple of entry tickets just in case. Will gamble on grandstand nearer the time if looking good. Not going to book any accommodation or ferry yet either.

Pierre Fillon (head of the ACO) has said upon Twitter that it would be 'unthinkable' to run behind closed doors for a second year.
I can't see the UK blocking foreign holidays in August, the proles would riot and Boris' posh mates would want to go to their second homes in Tuscany etc.

‘Therefore doing everything we can to avoid that happening’Date change decision from traditional date just to increase the chances, not a guarantee of normal running.
I think at best any spectators will be limited.

Hopefully there will be some news re the Classic soon.
Given it normally runs a few weeks after the 24 then second weekend of September is looking likely- unless of course the whole thing gets postponed again!
I’ve been digging through the French news and they suggested Classic could also occur just before Le Mans. They refer to other events occurring at the circuit. It does appear the Le Mans event has moved to when the Velo was scheduled to occur so it is also possible it could displace an event already occurring.
