Where do we stand? I know we can register on the health pass.. does that mean we have introduced it?

Clear as ever!

I haven't got the foggiest idea what it means. I presume as we are now not in the EU we as Brits have no access to the European Health Pass. Which means we need a PCR which if the same rules apply allows us 48 hours access from time of taking it. I'm going to hunt around the .GOV site and see if anything is on there about this European Pass but don't see how the UK can be included.

Could be we need to arrange for a PCR at our Tuesday venue sometime in the evening, to give us access Wednesday and Thursday. tehn another on Friday to cover us for the race.

But if you scan your vaccination certificate with the french app it does generate a qr code.... But have we introduced it? I'm confused!. Still. Will send ACO a confusing email for them to confuse further,,,

Have you checked it recently? I scanned a picture into our LM chat group when I did it, it has since ben updated and now has the "not EU compatible" comment. Might change in the next week, but can you see the EU allowing UK folk access to their apps? Doubt it. Found first test centre in Deauville so we can get that done before breakfast Wednesday.

Yup. I do find that concerning, I've sent them an email with a screenshot...

Likewise have sent e-mail to ACO - will see if that makes matters clearer (or not!).
As things stand, subject to whatever new rules are announced later this week, you need an antigen test before coming back to the UK (at least 72 hrs beforehand I believe)
This being the case, then a test on Saturday morning would work for both this and getting into the circuit.
Just hope testing not affected by previous night alcohol consumption.

I suspect ultimately it will either scan or not. We need to find someone somewhere who has used the app!

Indeed. I’m thinking this might not be sufficient though.

We’re planning a Saturday morning PCR for re-entry to the UK on Monday eve. Hopefully also a back-up incase the French COVID pass isn’t accepted at the circuit on Saturday. Anyone know of a testing venue close by the circuit?

I've been using the coronavirus.test.fr site, think closest for us is Le Lude, so can nip to Rose & Crown, have a beer and get tested.

Hopefully come Friday the ridiculous amber plus will disappear and some normality return. Politically the French aren’t going to make it easy for us to use their health pass at the moment but given a little levelling up by our idiots may ease this.....hope so.

Let’s face it, if your double jabbed with a recognised vaccine you should be able to travel anywhere and not need stupidly expensive tests

From another forum, from a Brit based in France:

Someone said:
for british people with a british vaccination qr code in tousanticovid, bring your printout from the app. the verif app currently rejects the uk codes, and if gate staff are correctly trained they will ask for the paper copy to do a proper check. they should not straight up reject your TAC qr code and send you packing.

The incidence of the 4th wave is arriving, with the numbers locally up by 50% from 80 new cases a few days ago to 120.

So in response to my e-mail to the ACO asking the following question…..

“I have downloaded the TousAntiCovid App and scanned my UK vaccinations certificate, which generates a QR code on the app. Is this sufficient to enter the circuit, with appropriate ID?”
I received the reply….

Yes this is sufficient .

So that’s all crystal clear then!!??

Bloody excellent news! Now if C19 could just keep its head down and the British government, French government, ACO, EU etc etc could just refrain from screwing around with the regs for a few weeks, we might just have ourselves a nice time.

The UK government's latest statement relates to people returning from abroad eg France. Excitement needs to be tempered because of France's requirements for entry to their country..

Their requirement is to be double vaccinated and has been for a while. https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france...
