I'm not sure a curfew would aid the covid safety (in fact might make it worse as lots of people would leave at the same time) unless they think people would bump into each other in the dark...
While I don’t think it will happen they have been using curfews at the French tennis tournament over the past few weeks Edited by surveyor on Monday 14th June 07:41
I emailed them this morning and got this automatic reply:

I have just received the media accreditation email from the ACO and a bit of info that may be pertinent for all those planning to attend is:
"No camping will be allowed before 18 August. If you are planning to cover the event before then, please make other accommodation arrangements."
I can't remember seeing this specifically stated in previous media emails (but I must admit to not really reading them that closely....)

I think we knew that, although perhaps not so adamantly "No camping will be allowed before 18 August. If you are planning to cover the event before then, please make other accommodation arrangements."

Congratulations - you must be someone really important - they're like rocking horse sh!t unless you're Japanese
Thanks...............No, not important (or Japanese), just on a mailing list. It's just work (pretty colours going round in circles) and I thought a bit of concrete info from a reliable ACO communication might help some people. But maybe not.

It is not a guarantee of being accepted, anything but, as there were just around 80 media granted passes in 2020 rather than the customary 1500+.
I understand that the rules will be similar to last year, no media access to the paddock, except TV, and no access to the garages.
I shall be spending August here in Blighty rather than attend under those conditions.
My Japanese contact who, like me, has been covering the race every year since the mid-80s, will not be travelling to France nor will many of his fellow countrymen.
August 2021 tickets on sale now - looks like GA is on a per day basis, or there's a joint ticket for Wed/Thu practice/quali' and another joint ticket for the race weekend itself. Parking on Rouge or Bleu, but no camping permits for sale.
'Small' matter of not knowing if a double UK vaccine will allow entry to France and then there's the 'social responsibility' of should we even be travelling....?
Perhaps Eurosport and a tent in the garden is the right thing to do...

Looks like the ACO are planning to operate Bleu Nord, Epinettes, and Houx Annexe. Presumably that covers the population that are being rolled over from last year.
Entirely plausible between now and mid-August.

Thinking the French will tighten up their entry requirements?Entirely plausible between now and mid-August.

Unless they are holding back BSJ to use for camping sold last year...BeeGT said:
