Well that did not last long!
You are right. Now sold out.

Motorsport magazine wrote an online article outlining why the centenary Le Mans is sold out.

Briefly they outline the reasons as:
1.The 2022 race had one of the weakest entries in recent years. The two Toyotas were as dominant. Outside the top category there were just three manufacturers in GT Pro, compared to six just three years earlier, so the field was padded out with an enormous field of LMP2 and GT Am contenders. This came on the back of the 2021 event whose attendance was limited to 50,000 spectators (barely a fifth of the number that usually turns up) and 2020 whose attendance was limited to zero. In short for three years there has been massive, pent up demand for this race.

2. The 2023 Le Mans is looking like it could be one of the greatest ever. With the new LMH and LMDh categories running together for the first time, works entries from Toyota, Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Peugeot, Cadillac and returnees Alpine and Glickenhaus should, in theory, ensure raging competition at the front, across both classes whose rules have been configured to allow an equal chance of victory. We’ve not seen an entry like it at Le Mans for over 20 years.

3.It is the centenary so clearly demand is going to be higher than on other years.

In addition, I also think that the entry of the Ferrari team as a "works" entry will mean there are a lot of people who might not normally be interested that will now want to go.

The full article can be read here:
https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/articles/sports...

For next year, demand may reduce as its not the centenary, but the already rumoured entry of Valention Rossi VR46 in a BMW LMDh car will bring thousands on Vale fans to the race. But that is next year.

In December Beasajour tickets appeared for sale and were available for a few hours. I know because I and several friends bought them. A few days ago weekend tickets went on sale again for less than an hour. Then were quickly sold out.

So there may be chances to get tickets as agents return their unsold allocation. But as all the agents I have contacted are over subscribed that may be a rare occurence.

It does seem strange that such a big event is sold out so far ahead. Which might suggest the ACO are holding back a substantial allocation. Maybe they intend to make tickets available on the gate to avoid the likely riot when French race fans arrive at the circuit to be told "Non".

I will keep checking the ticket site daily and if I see any tickets go back on sale I will post here.

Good luck everyone.

Don't underestimate this one. He brought massive armies of fans to motogp, even when he was at the back of the grid in his last year. At the races his stands were a good 30 mins wait the crowds were that big, every other riders stand was like 2 or 3 people. He is like a superstar about to arrive in car racing world. I wouldn't be surprised if he added 50,000 to the numbers if he gets a works drive.

Taking some time off from marshalling a few years ago at the TT my Mother was talking to an Italian man for about 40 minutes, guy seemed to have had a lot of friends around him. She told him about the bike racing and then they chatted all about Italy. When he left her the massive gathering crowd were pestering her about him, wanting to know what he said etc. They told her he was Valentino Rossi - she'd never heard of him!

For anyone not monitoring the For Sale thread, there was a post on there about getting admission tickets added to your order if you'd got camping tickets through the ACO. I was after one extra admission ticket and as I'd booked Arnage camping thought I'd try my luck. As it happens I now have the full week admission ticket added to my order. All within 10 minutes.

It's not very often I say it, but well done ACO!!

If you’re a member you should get this….

I don’t need tickets, but tempted to apply and if successful offer them out (at cost) here. Edit…. Ah, re-read it and that plan might not work.

For those of you who’ve still not got your trip sorted as you haven’t been able to get a campsite etc., but had your names down with certain operators on their “reserves” list, the final payments for the 2023 trip are due about now so the operators may experience some unexpected cancellations which could see some further availability for a few lucky souls thumbup

Though early look on the buying page shows nothing available. Think it will need hourly / daily checks!

Long shot, but anyone have any spare circuit tickets? We have camping only at the moment? Even just one day would be good! (We’ll be there Thurs -sun)

This needs something similar to the apps which scan the DVSA site and autobook driving test cancellations. Managed to get my lad a test start of May, 8 weeks earlier than his booked test date.
