Someone mentioned to me that the current disinfectant baths being used by the ferry companies / Eurotunnel were as deep as 8 or 9 inches. Has anyone got any definite confirmation of this before I ring them up to find out if we stand any chance of getting the Westfield through while remaining vaguely dry ?? I guess it would also be a problem for anyone with a low air-intake, e.g. TVRs ??

A friend used the ferries last week. I told him about this 10" story and whilst he didn't give a detailed account he did assure me it was more like a couple of inches. Anyway if you find out anything a little more useful than the above please post it here as many PH readers are off to the PH French trackday in May. Mike.

Spoke to Sea Chance this morning - they confirmed they are using what amounts to a piece of soggy carpet !! You drive over it in the car and then, by the sound of it, walk over a piece with your shoes. Don't know about Eurotunnel, Hoverspeed or the other channel ports (Portsmouth, Southampton) but hopefully it won't be as bad as I originally thought.

I was on the Harwich - Hook of Holland crossing yesterday, and they have just got pads soaked in disinfectant that just about got the wheels wet. Jim
