citroen C3 when there was one (I cycled everywhere). Then I got a Leon Cupra R, but that ws too small with a baby and a 2 year old (pushchair and pram,
baby seat meant i couldn't get my seat far enough back (six foot but long legs/ big feet). Got a Touran, now the kids are 3 and 5 I want something smaller, maybe another LCR or golf GTI or given that its mostly just me in the car and kids for short journeys a TT.
The bold bit is really important actually. My sister coped fine with a Suzuki Alto with one child, but now there is a second she needs to change it because with a car seat in the back she can't get her seat back far enough to drive comfortably anymore.

I believe the law in the UK now states that seats should be rear-facing for longer which means even more space taken up - fine if you're short but for someone 6 foot or more it's going to be very difficult to get comfy, even in a Golf.

Yes, we had to swap our 2nd car for something bigger as we couldn't get a rear facing child seat in the back of a Fiesta without the front seat being at its most forward position.
