Reading the advert suggest to me you haven't owned the car very long so raises a question over why you are selling.
The black wheels on a black car suggest to me previous owners maybe a bit boy racer type and do nothing to enhance the car.
The advert finishes with the bad points which leaves me with a negative impression of the car.
It would appear to be too highly price based on the response you have had so far.

Perhaps adjust the price, fix the defects, take some better photos, spend £200 on refurbishing wheels back to silver and you’d get more interest.
Your rebuild was presumably done almost 17 years ago and at a third of the miles now covered, so it’s a negligible benefit versus a recent rebuild.
Hope useful. Not trying to have a pop. Buy a lot of cars so tried to offer some constructive advice in respect of the question posed.
Yes, that is useful: thanks.Your rebuild was presumably done almost 17 years ago and at a third of the miles now covered, so it’s a negligible benefit versus a recent rebuild.

I had no idea the wheels were so off-putting, so worth considering.
Genuine question: what sort of better photos are needed?

Do the wheels, will lift it.

For a start remove the steering lock, they are useless and really is off putting. Get the minor issues fixed, gear gator and why not get a decent valet on the paintwork. Then as summer comes it is ready to go.
I hadn’t noticed the steering lock in one of the photos: it does look silly though, so I’ll redo that picture. Thanks for pointing that out.As someone who has been subjected to a double car theft via burglary, I disagree that they’re useless, however…

Are you saying that I should mention why I’m selling?
The previous owner was far from a boy racer, but I see your point.
Sounds like a bit of a rewrite might be in order, if only to leave the reader with a more positive impression!
I would talk solely about the current physical condition of the car and that it's been well maintained. Key info is generally date/mileage of last service and date of MOT expiry.
I'd get the cosmetic bits tidied up if they're easy to tidy up. You don't want to have to be talking about a poor handbrake gator. Personally, I wouldn't mention any modifications unless and until a buyer asks because they're as likely to reduce the price as enhance it.
And those number plates, are they actually legal? Either way I'd spend £30 getting some shiny new ones with no additions.

Not necessarily, but you only mention work done in 2022. Are you saying that I should mention why I’m selling?
You also mention the full service stamps so maybe detail a bit more of the service history including the recent 2022 jobs.
You need to generate interest/contact first then if anybody asks the question directly you can then give your reasons for selling.

I can’t see why the plates wouldn’t be legal: do you mean because of the “TVR” down the side? Nothing has ever been mentioned about them before…I'd get the cosmetic bits tidied up if they're easy to tidy up. You don't want to have to be talking about a poor handbrake gator. Check set of photos on collecting cars, consistent all sides, without steering lock, showing drivers seat.
Do the wheels, will lift it.
I shall investigate and review the photos.Do the wheels, will lift it.
I’m thinking I might give the option of wheel colour in the advert (i.e. I’ll have them redone if someone would prefer a different colour). If people bother to read it properly, that might cover all bases.

Fair points: when I sit down to do some serious editing, I shall include more service history. You also mention the full service stamps so maybe detail a bit more of the service history including the recent 2022 jobs.

So I think I have a plan:
1) rewrite advert, taking into account the many bits of useful feedback on here
2) edit the photos on the advert
3) sort out minor cosmetic stuff (handbrake gaiter; rear badge; paintwork has already been 3 stage polished recently)
4) if above yields no better results, drop price OR wait until better weather
Many thanks for the contributions. I shall endeavour to update with any developments (in case anyone is interested).

To be honest, all of that plus 24,995 if you genuinely want to stand a chance of selling 1) rewrite advert, taking into account the many bits of useful feedback on here

Beautiful Car. I'm a massive Tuscan Fan, but not currently in the market, a little kid arrival changed all plans to boring reliable SUV's on AT.. I feel the fan base of these cars are marginally low now so that might be the reason? (Demographic of petrolheads who watched Swordish back in the day for two things: Halle Berry and Tuscan

Nothing helpful to add, other than that I don't think people buy convertibles when it's pissing down. You could arrange a test drive and it would be just as likely to be snowing as sunny.
I do think threads like this are the best side of PH though, lots of helpful people on here. Maybe there should be a regular "tear my ad a new one" thread for this sort of thing.
