By the way are any threadists going this year?
Yes. Look out for the Smith & Sniff tribute "El Divvy" Convoy campervan.
Open house for threadists (drinks, and munchies).

Hopefully. Need to get an MOT on the A3 though (along with literally all my other cars)macron said:

The only way it could have a less reliable engine than a BMW V8 is if they bought in B grade Rover K series powerplants.
Given the difficulty the M62 had in keeping it's fluids inside and it's timing gear intact in much less demanding applications I can't imagine it's any sort of stalwart of dependability when you put a pair of turbochargers on it and task it with dragging around 2.3 tons of Bentley.
I gather the 6.75 is partial to a head gasket but is otherwise as tough as it's nature would suggest, and of course as a pushrod engine a head gasket isn't nearly as tedious a task as with a (D)OHC design.
Glad it wasn't just me scratching my head at the BMW V8 being described as reliable. I didn't know about the head gaskets on the 6 and three quarters, but whilst the core engine is a pretty simple old thing the plumbing above is the sort of thing that makes a mechanic turn pale and have a bit of a lie down. At least on the few engine rooms I've gazed into. So I can't imagine replacing a HG is cheap!

Nice. Still got lots of depreciation left to do though.
Why they bothered to sell them here is a mystery to me.
I probably would.
Do they do an Estate?!
Seems so. Seems a bit Insignia, Vel Satis like large hatchback:

Very much so. I assume it’s because the demand isn’t there. If you can get a top-spec E class or 5er, would you actually need a S or 7 wagon ? Lugging things about doesn’t necessarily equate with reclining in luxury. Don’t get me wrong I think the RS6 is a brilliant way to frighten the daylights out of Fido, but don’t think you need an A8 estate. Similarly a big Alpina estate is sublime but think that is the limit imo.
If you want to go large the RR has that base covered I think tbf. (But you did say no SUVs )

I had an A8 a while back, and we had to take the wife's car (Saab estate) when we had the dogs with us.If you want to go large the RR has that base covered I think tbf. (But you did say no SUVs )

I really liked the A8 and wished it had been an estate.
Before that I had a Lexus LS400 - same issue. Great car, no dog department.

The rear window looks like the front windscreen of another car just stuck on the back. https://www.genesis.com/uk/en/models/g70-shooting-...

Stunning colour combination, and I love how classy Maserati interiors look - I'm just not brave enough to buy one! CharlesdeGaulle said:

Sorry CdeG, I cannot remember the name of the car designer who does artwork of cars, inc. your Lexus. I thought they may be able to help that PHer in Biker Banter:https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
