Nice colour E38. Price seems reasonable at 3250: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116502582371

Yeah, it's about as good and realistic a price as one would hope to achieve, considering that this is the facelift in which a lot of electonics were improved, no SBC and an engine with substantially more power (some saddos even like to count the valves!) and improved emmpeegeees. Also, it's relatively well specced -- the ventilated seats being welcome, though no third bench option (which can easily be retro-fitted, no doubt).
What suspension do those have, is it ABC or air?

The Designo E500 with the M273 5.5L engine is on sale again — this time from a different vendor and with a sticker price just ten percent above thread top. Marmite seats, but the useful luggage kit in the boot which I have too.

Glad I didn't buy it at the old price now! (Although I very, very nearly did - it seemed legit - started, went up and down, showed no malfunctions).
I'm enjoying my SL instead smile

On for £4995 now.

Those wheels make it look like an E280cdi and would have to go.

Looks to me like it could be a replacement document issued - no ownership change recorded

Those wheels make it look like an E280cdi are unlikely to be circular and would have to go.
I like them, and they were on my 500, but it’s currently wearing all season tyres on period incorrect 17” Anka wheels; whether I will get the rear 10 spokes straightened again I’m unsure, but I’m not confident any 18” 211 wheels will remain circular on our roads.

Any petrol engine from circa 2001 should be ULEZ compliant, that engine definitely is as I've got it in my SL.

The M273 in the R500 is compliant as is the earlier M113 in my E500, so this will be ULEZ compliant.

ULEZ is contingent on NOx which is prevalent in stinky diesels that no one should’ve been buying in the first place. V8s or bust, frankly.

Inverness... I suspect seller's location doesn't help. I've noticed over the years that the further into Scotland you go, the more of a hit you take on the used value of something a bit special. Smaller potential market. I also suspect what market there is will be more likely to want something they can smash about rutted lanes.
