A piss yellow high spec C class, perfect for those times you want to cosplay as a man in his late 80s still driving the car you bought yourself as a retirement present. Perfect for driving to the Conservative Club to drink port in the middle of the afternoon.

Best cars in the world, don't you know, The Best or Nothing. Just feel the rouched vinyl on the doors.

I guess you don't like it, then. Care to share where the C class touched you?

In that case, apologies, comment retracted.

So what about another one, albeit a touch over budget, with added space for those trips to the garden center, with a much nicer interior?

I think the leather is actual leather in these. It certainly was in my 2006 estate.

Or, transfer a few pounds more from your rainy day fund, say "to hell with fuel economy!" and go for one with even nicer interior with considerably more thrunge:

I was looking at that dealer's stock last week. The paint match on the NS looks questionable. It's like the front and rear NS wings are completely different from the doors.

I often see this said about pictures of silver cars. It's more likely to be this effect IMHO:

That looks well-kept. I would guess just under double-thread max.

It’s nice to see one with clear glass, slight visual improvement to the ride height and a good history. £21k in spend over 7 years sounds a lot but it’s ‘only’ £3 k a year.

But would you choose this over the 6.2?

This E430 wears the miles well, nice colours too. Might end up quite expensive for a W210. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267189963352

Those E55s look great, you seldom see them in a colour though.

Been looking for a new car and it astounds me how little effort people put into trying to sell their cars. Anyway rant over. Another R500 slightly above thread top, with black leather, and another completely pointless description that tells you nothing about the actual car.

I have a car for sale at the minute and the advert is extensive.
I see adverts for cars for £36k by people who make a living selling cars and there’ll be 8 words.

WRT to the first one, I'll give the seller a bit of leeway. The car appears to have been parked up in some corner of a repair place. Clearly it's unwashed, unloved and there are few good camera angles. That said, the description does him no favours when trying to sell an old, large-engine Merc that requires a substantial repair. I am also confused by the repair:

"The current market value for a similar R500 is 7K. Given the required repair, I am offering this at a significantly reduced price - making it a fantastic deal for anyone looking to invest in a rare, high-quality Mercedes-Benz at a fraction of its value."

"The MOT and servicing can be arranged easily post-repair. Serious buyers only!"

So do you (as the buyer) pay for the car, the repair and then take the risk of it failing MOT and/or finding issues during MOT and servicing ? What mug is possibly going to go for this ? Either repair and sell it or put it up for spares and repair.

Well, he’s probably overwhelmed with dependents, short of time and cash and thinks that it’s worth a punt. He’s not wrong about the value — the difference between this and AllyBee’s R500 is the more frugal and more powerful M273 engine (some people count the valves, too!), the LWB and the additional seventh seat.

Seller seems to be offering a 10 year warranty for only 2.5k of work.

Can see the thread now.....
