Picked mine up today. Absolutely love it. Before collecting, I was worried that I had only really seen Advanced models, however my Elegance looks drives and feels really well.

Currently addicted to the instant torque!

I read somewhere that sports mode is the most efficient. No Tesla superchargers please.

I complained to Honda about the Tesla thing and they called me back to say they are currently investigating. Could be nothing but you never know!

Is anyone still waiting for their car to arrive? I asked if I could have mine earlier as i've sold my old car and its being collected next week but apart from them saying "it's on its way to the dealership" & "its just a few days away" which was over a week ago i'm wondering if anyone else is waiting for their car?

I’m the opposite - keep putting them off as I’m working abroad by the car has to be handed over by 30th latest under the terms of the offer. My sister picked hers up on 4th.

Cancelled the Honda today, hadn’t signed the sales contract, so could..
A decent car at a decent price.

But I had no excitement at the imminent arrival.
That was the decider for me.

Again I saw new Tesla 3 (a little more for ownership).
I want! Despite Elon.
Or a pre-reg Škoda Enyaq 85..
I am having second thoughts as well. Does anyone know if the Sales contract and Order form are 2 different things? As I signed the Order form straight away when I went for Test Drive. Honda account says I can get full refund on deposit if not signed Sales contract yet. Haven't got a delivery/collection date yet either. Still debating though...
No problem cancelling mine, very easy.
Hadn’t signed the sales contract.
The £1k deposit was refunded within a couple of days, somehow backdated to July on cc!

Nice enough car, but instead I purchased a used 2024 Skoda Enyaq 80 from Skoda. Good extras incl full leather/panoramic/packages/5k miles, under £30k, just a better car.

The Honda seemed good, but I don’t like the concept of pcp

So purchased the lightly used Škoda (£47k+ supposedly) for less..

Mine has turned up finally however the dealer said it needs to wait at the dealership for a week for some kind of cooling off period or something. Does that sound right? Will mean we’re without a car for 6 days which is annoying!

Mine arrived at the dealership last monday evening and i picked it up thursday.

They left some sort of pre-pre delivery checklist dated beginning of August in the car, so it had been sat around for a while.

Mine has been ready for a couple of weeks at the dealer and I'm finally picking it up on Friday. Its only my 2nd ever new car and I haven't got round to picking it up yet as it doesn't excite me and I've been hanging on to my Octavia VRS for as long as possible.

Hopefully it will grow on me, only gone ahead with it as the previous owners of our house had solar panels, Tesla battery storage and a car charging point fitted, which they left them all behind... hopefully with that set up and the sun out we can run it for pennies...

We've got an Urban Grey (not seen one yet) and one of the £179 per month deals, although the dealer is trying to get me to buy the mats for £130!

hmmm ok sounds similar. I'll be honest I just find this particular dealer annoying to deal with.

Anyway picking it up next Monday so looking forward to seeing what its like.

Thanks. Was getting tempted by the Tesla lease deal that was on, but have decided to go ahead with Honda.

However my dealer has also gone MIA on me. No reply for the last week and a half and Honda UK now saying delivery in October biggrin

Hi,

Wondering if anyone’s ever been in a similar situation before?
Ive finally got my sales contract to sign but also found out the dealership is changing to be a service centre/after sales centre only. That is, no more a full dealership/sales centre? But they are still honouring/delivering their orders they have committed to. I’ve been given a tentative delivery date of next Saturday.

Trying to understand how this impacts me, if at all.

Shouldn't really affect you. If all else fails, is there another dealer reasonably handy that you can use?

Honda have been reducung their network for a few yrs as their sales fell away in the UK - we used to have two really good indie dealers nearby. They got canned and a glass palace built by a regional dealer group replaced them but there was never anyone in there. It has MG too now and they seem more focussed on that.

I am aware that one of their other branches lost the sales side and continued for a while with servicing but it's not listed on the Honda website at all now.

Thanks. Yeah, I do have a local dealer that’s closer but they weren’t doing the same deal. Guess I can still take it to them if there’s any issues or for servicing if my dealer shuts down entirely.

Looks great! Any feedback on the carwow sale?

Similar position to you as we have a car to sell when we take delivery - considering Motorway or Carwow.

Also - what home charger did you go for?
I got a tethered charged from Cord. It's alright, gets the job done, but it doesn't have any integrations with the car or my supplier (Octopus). I'm on the Agile tariff, so I just schedule it via the charge point's app for the half hour slots where my electricity is cheap.

Octopus were charging £100 more (£999 vs. Cord's £899) for an untethered Ohme charger, but would rather pocket the £100 and not have to dig my own cable out of the boot every time I want to charge the car.

Collected mine on Saturday. Checked on the wording of the contract. I was assured that that the final payment was optional in the sense that the contract states a final guaranteed value which will equal the remaining debt and can be used to pay off the final amount. The wording could be clearer but I think it is ok.
In terms of the car itself, it is very nice. Like a few others have said, had a few doubts but for the monthly amount with the free servicing I think it’s better than most other deals.

What you have been told is correct in so far as you do not have to make that final payment. Irrespective of the vehicles values at the end of the agreement, as long as you are within the agreed mileage and condition guidelines you can simply return it and walk away if the vehicle is worth less than the Guaranteed Final Value then the loss is the finance houses to bear.

If the car is worth more than the Guaranteed Final Value and you want to keep the car then you can purchase it outright for that Guaranteed Final Value and mileage / condition are irrelevant.

If the car is worth more than the Guaranteed Final Value, then you can p/x the car against another one (at any dealership) and use any equity that there is (surplus of p/x price vs Guaranteed Final Value) towards the deposit on your next vehicle, Again, mileage / condition are irrelevant to the Guaranteed Final Value as these will be reflected in any p/x valuation you get

I'm glad you edited your post - the examples you gave made the situation more confusing!

Do Honda really talk about GFV? It's not a term used much now - I don't know if there has been a "ban" on it as such, but it was causing some issues when people got to the end of their PCP and found their cars were worth less than the GFV and they were getting upset as they assumed the value was "guaranteed".

Not that it really makes any difference, but GFV has been generally replaced by Optional Final Payment.

I never understood the confusion around Guaranteed Future Value but do agree that Optional Final Payment is pretty much foolproof. As long as mileage and condition where within guidelines it should never matter whether the actual value is lower than a GFV - too many people sleepwalked into PCPs believing they would walk away with bundles of cash at the end of the agreement - always approached it as worst case scenario you walk away with nothing, best case you have equity

Collection day for me today. Couldn't of been more simple, a few box ticks on a ipad and a 10 min walk around the car and i was away. Here are some inital observations:

1. The central tablet seems to be tilted to the passenger for some reason, only subtly but definitely noticeable
2. Why can't you change the ambient lighting colours, blue is ok i guess
3. I'm 6ft and i am looking out of the top 90% of the windscreen. Would of been nice to have the seat go down more
4. The charger (which i didn't get to play with on the test drive) is a bit daft! Cool you have a button to open it but then you have to use like 4 fingers to pull it down so going to get mucky hands. You also need to press a button to release the charger
5. No car mats which i bought my own but there's no hooks to hook my 3rd party ones to WHHHYYYYY
6. Overall quality is good! Feels premium which is nice
7. Bonus you get a trickle charger with it
8. Ride quality is nice and feels quite
9. Picked it up and had a full charge but only showed 198 miles

Overall for £268 I can't complain its very cheap motoring and but its just missing those final touches that could of made it a good car.

The car calculates the range on how it's recently been used. They sit around in dealer's yards with the power on while they check all the systems. Mine had 15 miles on it at an average 1.5 miles / kWh. eek I've averaged 3.9 miles / kWh over the last 1600 miles, it went up substantially after I'd had it a couple of weeks.

I'm 6ft 2 and I find the view and headroom perfectly good. Are you sure you have the seat all the way down?
