Sold one of these earlier this year, looked like a shed, damaged rear quarter, it really was not though, a dealer jumped on it for max shed money, it was 5995 on his website, repaired, detailed, and highlighting the FFSH, only there for a few days too.

I got excited by the Swedish sheds and jumped the gun a bit early.

I have bought a leggy T5 C70 unseen, that may or may not be brilliant! laugh

I'll post some photos when it turns up tomorrow...

It can go very wrong

Probably due a cam belt, which is high(ISH) labour on an S80 due to it being so tight in the engine bay. And whilst it might drive smoothly, once fully warmed up anything more than 50% throttle might result in massive gear flare and huge thumps from the gearbox due to a borked valve block.
So scrap it then. Even if it breaks the same day you buy it, it only costs you 1k.

This, sums up sheds, a low value gamble, why would you do the belt? They usually last far longer than recommended intervals, especially if they are not oily. Intervals are to reduce warranty claims.

I ran a low miles, low use diesel, got panicky about the belt 9 years after buying it, pulled it, and the belt looked good as new. Water pumps often kill them before the belt.

Only ever had 2 belts go, years ago on a high mile Pinto, changed it at the side of the road, and recently with the GF,s Focus, it was oily, took it off the road to do it, someone started it to move it in the yard, and snap lol,

You could of course fall in love with a shed purchase, throw money at it, but its not a shed anymore .

I just gave a 350 quid shed to my step daughter, it drives mint, clean and tidy inside and out, if the belt goes, tough.

I forgot about the shed that is currently out on loan, will try and dig out a pic. Scrapes in as a 1500 quid part exchange car nearly 2 years ago. with a gearbox fault which it still has.

Probably the newest that will appear, and been used as Loan/curtosey, commuter for the dog and I, parts chaser, dumped at dealerships to collect delivery cars, sometimes for weeks before collected, and months not being used at all. Always starts straight up.

Spent 25 quid on it, for a part worn tyre plus 80 for two mot tests, not touched it otherwise. Go anywhere car, because it is a ...

2016 Euro 6 diesel Vauxhall Mokka SE Auto, with lovely heated leather front seats, heated steering wheel and Ice cold aircon..

Must break for most of my money back if and when it gives up.

Well my 'shed of sheds' has arrived.

I did go slightly over the £1500 limit in the end but I got free delivery to the midlands from Oop North, so I'm claiming a win.

Surprised at how clean it is for the money.

There's 'a bit' of history... This is some of it:

Roof goes down and up ok. One of the rear quarter lights doesn't go all the way down, it wants a sidelight bulb and the AC doesn't blow cold.

It goes better than I expected. I don't know whether the little Polestar badges mean it's mapped or not.

Altogether I'm quite happy. biggrin

Flogged this for a grand last week. Been the wife’s 2nd car for a couple of years, only had 4 owners, 122k miles, big folder of all services, history etc. Everything worked, ice cold aircon, full MOT and just serviced. Quite enjoyed fixing the roof sensor and some other bits myself before we sold it. Will hopefully be a good cheap shed for the people that bought it!
