Even when I don't home charge, I go to a charger which I can see has plenty of free capacity. They all report their status these days, and if your car satnav doesn't report it then apps like ABRP and ZapMap do.
From a technical standpoint it's a solved problem, except where there is a very limited number of rapid chargers in a given area in which case an EV driver is potentially still a bit buggered. It's never happened to me, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.
Im glad you have not experienced it, would be a ball ache. From a technical standpoint it's a solved problem, except where there is a very limited number of rapid chargers in a given area in which case an EV driver is potentially still a bit buggered. There is a video of chaos in realtime in autoalexs video, amusing to say the least.
Still while it amuses me I doff my cap for them chucking 70% of their post tax hard earned directly into the government coffers while I put in 5% of my much smaller amount.
It's extremely public spirited of you and I do appreciate it, please don't stop.

What amuses me is people paying £80-100 to do at best 800 miles instead of £20 to do the same distance.

I will continue driving ICE for the simple reason that I like to. Still while it amuses me I doff my cap for them chucking 70% of their post tax hard earned directly into the government coffers while I put in 5% of my much smaller amount.

You keep driving evs to save money or for whatever signal you want to give off.
Everyones happy.

The 400+hp and sub 4s dash to 60 in a cheap car I don't really care about is quite addictive in addition to the insignificant cost to run. You keep driving evs to save money or for whatever signal you want to give off.
Everyones happy.

Constantly?
I reply to the title when I see something relevant.
Why are you here constantly?
Relevant isn't strictly the correct term as you only post what suits your view. And you must be seeking out a lot of things to 'see' given the frequency of posting them on. I reply to the title when I see something relevant.
Why are you here constantly?
Trouble is that all you're ever going to see on your YT feed is what you've taught the algo that you want to see so you're not ever going to get any objective view.

There does seem to be a lot of people at the minute denouncing electric cars and going back to petrol.
I've never met one. Plenty of old duffers in our place that spouted the usual bks but are now for some reason driving EVs.

I'm happy to switch for my daily. as my journeys and access to charging are ideal. it would also be fun to have another drivetrain in the fleet, I see that as a plus. However, my daily is a reliable Japanese comfort crossover and worth less than half the EV replacement. I also think EVs are developing rapidly so I don't to buy an expensive iPhone 3 or an early laptop, but wait until the development curve has flattened a little.
So, I'm on board, just waiting a little.

Especially if like you you can have the best of both worlds.

Perfectly reasonable. They certainly won't suit absolutely everybody but beyond the obvious click bait titles I'm sure the vast majority don't (and won't) go back.
Especially if like you you can have the best of both worlds.
I think if you're looking to buy now, do you buy something that may have a limited supply in future, and could become very valuable and in demand; or something that will soon be superseded and made obsolete as the technology moves forward? I wonder which would be the more prudent option looking at future values.Especially if like you you can have the best of both worlds.
The guy who talked about EVs as 'devices' rather than cars was bang on the money.

It's as if there has been some weird voodoo going on with interest rates.
