I hope the time trials are a little bigger this time. All of a sudden my car felt very big last year. Plus with no hand brake to pull just a switch as most later vehicles it was a challenge to say the least.

They're a lot bigger this time biggrin I don't think you'll be disappointed. Especially with a full unobstructed run on the tarmac rally stage at Brands...

Interesting, but bloody pricey.

I'll give you a comparison (but without the tests) - The Lions run a Tour of Kent each year starting in Tonbridge, same tulip diagrams but includes a nice three course lunch for you and your passenger. Starts with coffee, lunch half way round in a hotel and then finish with the Mayor and a cream tea.

All in cost £70. The bulk of which goes to charity.

They are quite different events. Both for charity I hasten to add. The lions tour is a classic car tour for pre 99 vehicles. This is open to all types and ages of vehicle. I believe it has been mentioned earlier in the posts that the cost is driven by the cost of paying the marshall's and the rental of the area of brands. As someone who completed last years event I for one requested a more challenging test section so would expect an increase in cost to cover the use of Brands Hatch. All I can say is the Mrs and I had a great day last year. The mix of cars made the day. Everything from about as late as you can get McLarens and Porsches to a beautiful 60s Mexico and everything in between. I think I even spied an E type.

I couldn't comment on the Lion's tour as I haven't done it, but I can report that the last tour around Suffolk was worth every penny as far as I am concerned. Therefore I think having Brands on the itinerary plus knowing how good the last one was, the uplifted cost is worth it.

One question though - the cost for the Suffolk tour included the membership of the Motorsports club - that membership expired in Dec '18. Membership is included again for the Kent tour but when it comes to doing any of the other planned tours this year, will anyone who has been on the Kent tour get a discounted rate as membership has already been paid for?

While it’s mandatory to be a member of a motorsport club for all Motorsport UK approved events, the GT Motorsports Club membership is included for free as part of taking part in a Sporting Tour. So there isn’t any saving to be made in this case but we're working on some ideas of added benefit for those that take part in all three biggrin

Is it me or is the uptake for this a little slower than last year. I know we are a little way off but I'm sure the list filled faster last year?

I was thinking the same as there are still over 20 needed to reach the minimum 80 entries. Hope it doesn't end up getting cancelled due to lack of interest but do recognise there is still time to go. Come on peeps, don't miss out on what promises to be a really fun event smile

55 confirmed, but 80 required for go ahead.

They have been pushing it on social media too, shame as we've been looking forward to it.

I think last year they did a re-announcement nearer the time and got a decent reaction from that. I doubt some people want to plan that far in advance, still winter at the moment etc.

In the grand scheme of things, the location isn't massively far from the last one so I expected more of the people from last time to sign up again.

It does give me some fear about the Midlands and Northern Tours though, I always think of the South East being the most popular area for PH events.

I will definitely be in for all of them, hope enough other people will be too.

I'm not signing up for the South East tour, as the Midlands and Northern events are better for me.

We only went on sale just over a month before the event last year, so had a shorter period for people to book on.There's still plenty of time for people to get their space booked and inevitably with more events taking place this year, some are holding off for an event closer to home.

I'm confident we'll hit the minimum of 80 and will be announcing freebies soon for returning competitors smile

Somehow I had missed the minimum entry requirements so really hope the remaining places are filled up as am really looking forward to my first event. I’m doing the event with my best mate James and we’ll be down the night before so hopefully meet other entrants in the evening.

If it turns out to be as good as the Suffolk tour last year then you are in for a fun day smile

The 750s are racing at Brands on the 13th and 14th... qualifying on the Saturday, racing on the Sunday.

I wonder if our entry tickets get us in on both days?

Me and Norbs are going on the Sunday (after a leisurely hotel breakfast), tickets are £12 each.

Intrigued by the freebies mentioned. Does that include those already signed up?

I'm not sure how the GT club list works. It has 61 names and cars and the stats as below. How does that work or am I being thick?

Total submitted entries: 58
Total entries paid & accepted: 48
Potential entries pending completion: 10
