I agree with R Symonds; it's one of my bookmarked tabs. However, over the last month or so, they seem to be focusing more on non-SR+ models and following Tesla’s trend with used prices.

Fortunately, the price increases don’t seem widespread, and I can't see how they can be sustained. Like most people, I may be pushed to consider better value alternatives, but at least we still have options.

Like any business, if they think they have a good reputation, get lots of endorsements and a competitive edge they raise their prices thinking people will pay it.

He’s also on the south coast which is a long way to go for a lot of people and whilst 5 years ago there were few used cars around and even fewer dealers that knew about the cars, that position has changed a lot.

If I was looking again I’d target a 2021 Or newer Long Range with clean brake disks (no corrosion), four new tyres and around 20-30k miles for £25k or less.

Hopefully with performance upgrade (costs £1500).

I wouldn’t waste the premium on tesla approved.

I have 21M3LR with perf upgrade and I think it’s brilliant. The only consideration is that I would have taken one of the £299 a month lease deals that ended the other day if I could have got out of mine with close to zero loss.

If you can get tesla to inspect a private one and battery check (and the seller to agree?) then that could be one way to pay ~ £22k for same ? Or just wait for the next round or tesla sell offs next quarter.

Thank you everyone.

I'm torn between a 2021 LR model and a now rare 2022 SR+ model priced under £25k. Am I placing too much importance on the Intel/AMD debate, which is currently delaying my decision on the 2021 car?

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

How long do you typically keep cars and do you want the latest and greatest Tesla software at all times? If you either change cars every couple of years or aren’t too bothered about potentially missing out on a future software feature, then do t worry about it. If you want the latest software features and the fastest responding display (not that the Intel is slow), the it will matter. I imagine most people couldn’t tell the difference at the moment, it’s what might happen down the road where the gap may slowly grow.

Thanks for the advice.

I picked up my 2022 SR+ last Saturday (not from Tesla) and have been thoroughly impressed with it so far. It’s particularly enjoyable on these cold mornings!

Cheers.

I'm away with my Model Y at the moment and clicked the app to warm up it this morning. The wife got the notification (both our phones are linked to the car) just as she was defrosting her car at home...

Didn't go down very well... hehe

If the V5C doesn't come today you can always try Tesla with the proof of purchase (it needs the VIN showing) and any other paperwork you have. It seems sometimes the person who looks at these things are happy to take that as sufficienct evidence.

V5C came through the letterbox yesterday and the car was linked to the app minutes later smile

Perfect timing for a frosty morning, all good so far!
