I reckon for alot of people, waiting can be a cause for wavering.

Have had mine for a week and it has exceeded all expectations...especially after all the amazing reviews, which had really built my expectations.
I really haven't noticed the rear view mirror issue and really don't understand why it seems to be such an issue for some people(i am 6.0 FT tall). And when its safe to exercise the right pedal, there would be very little that would keep up with it...its one of the most fun and rewarding cars i have driven in a long time...and i am still trying to respect the running in rules!
And while the engine noise is manufactured, i think they have got it about right and it matches well the performance.
if you're wavering...don't...you will be missing a real driving experience.

I can’t lie, I’m wavering slightly......I look forward to driving it soon, my car is due next month. I need to get my test drive in soon...............smile
I’m sure I know the way I will be going....but would like the drive first....

Overheating seems to be a concern I've seen some Japanese tuners running into
The apex car is stock engine wise with just suspension and brake pads, will be interesting to see what it is, or maybe just unlucky as I know quite a few Yaris’s were lapping yesterday.
He’s saying he’d over revved the engine on downshift and now No 1 has no compression, Basically driver error.

Silly boy must have turned IMT off. hehe

Regarding the waiting and wavering, this has always been my main concern. Putting the deposit down was quite an impulsive thing for me, I’ve never even considered buying a new car before. I was worried that between 11th December and late July (as it was originally) anything could happen to my circumstances and I would pull out.

I might voice my concerns to my dealership and suggest that another, extended, test drive should fix this. Possibly having it for the weekend. Get them to throw in a track evening at Goodwood.

If they get difficult I could say that Dan Prosser from PH says a Fiesta ST is more fun, and I can get one of those tomorrow for a few grand less.

I’ve gotten many worried DM about the Yaris problem today! “Do I need to worry about my car?!?! Should I sell?!?”
-
As much as I’d like to say yes, we are all doomed, the Yaris has a defect and I won’t have to pay for this fix... I cannot...
-
The truth of the matter is yesterday morning I overrev’d the engine and afterwards it ran perfectly. It didn’t go to the moon but above redline by about 1000rpm from what I could tell.
-
After that it ran fine, it did 5 more strong laps but today I lost power on my warm up lap... maybe whatever was damaged today froze last night and didn’t like thawing out this morning 🤣
-
So any of you w a Yaris you should be very worried if you f’ up a shift and send it singing.... otherwise this thing is an absolute blast, I’m so happy to have it and this just means mine cost a bit more than yours...
-
As of now we know the nr 1 cylinder doesn’t have compression. W borescope you cannot see any damage to the piston or cylinder walls. Could be lucky w just a bent valve. Either way I’m sure all valves and springs will be replaced at a minimum.

Be interesting if they do budge....

On to some super exciting news, video is up on how to install side visors, I was looking forward to getting these but after watching the video install it looks like a super pain to put them on.

On black looks fine, but i think on white its going to stick out, I like the function it serves but will have to think about it.

I think given the demand for them at the moment the dealer is more likely to tell you to go get a Fiesta than give you any special treatment for a sale.

iMT will do naught to prevent this, too low gear and let the clutch up is pure hardware...

Suspect a free track day might be hopeful, but an extended test ought to be offered. Look on it as an opportunity to test other cars too (even a Fiesta ST). I feel guilty about testing cars I have no intention of buying - but feel justified in casting the net widely when I'm in the market for one.

Not exactly correct. I nearly did this and iMT saved the day. I fluffed a change, cant remember if it was 6th to 3rd or 4th to 1st, but I had iMT on and when I made the change iMT tried to blip the revs and hit the limiter which I realised before releasing the clutch and swiftly selected the correct gear.

So when your foot pressed down against the clutch the rev limiter was banging away? Nice save

Fair enough, your quick wits saved a lot of anguish, well done.

So it should state, iMT can't prevent this from happening, but it can give a warning....

Sorry to say yes . Sold it today ( at list ) . Not a bad car but just didn’t bond with it . Coming from a background of GT Porsches I think it was noise and the turbo that was the problem for me .

I think the little triple might struggle to do the numbers without the turbo.

But anyway, you clearly lack dedication. If people can retro fit heated seats I’m sure you could have mounted a 4.0 flat six behind the rear axle?

I’m getting the runaround off my dealer. I ordered 12 November, delivery pencilled in for March, it had been February when I first enquired 48 hours earlier but only had myself to blame for messing around for a couple of days. It’s never been on the tracker. I enquired about it’s progress last week and they got back to me today stating I was told May. I kindly sent him the emails he sent to me when I first enquired, it clearly states February, the other dealers I spoke to at that time all quoted February. I’m starting to think they have given my slot to someone else. He has told me that he’s raised a case with Toyota but I don’t believe a word they say now, very disappointed. Anyone else order at the same time and not even in build yet?

Did you buy "blind"? It's bound to be a culture shock for good or evil.
