Just purely out of interest, did anyone consider a Convenience Pack vehicle at all? Even on the main GG post there must be at most 5-6 orders for the Convenience pack, the rest are Circuit Pack cars.

I only ask as I've ordered the former. I'm going to be using it as a daily and from the reviews there doesn't seem to be much discernible difference between the packs when driving within the road 'limits'.

Anyway, my first new car, flipping excited and I cannot wait! not sure how test drives will now work in lockdown, but I need to get one booked in!

Only considered briefly as quickly saw the 'model' to have was the CP as this is what the GR's all about.

For a couple of extra grand if i could have added the 'features' of the Convenience Pack onto the Circuit Pack, that's the option i'd have chosen, but that wasn't possible so after a dither of just a few minutes i signed the paperwork for the CP.

This choice has been cemented following that list of lap times (Circuit de Catalunya but not the GP layout) where the CP was IIRC around 6 seconds quicker than the Convenience Pack model & it's only a fairly short layout so was close to a 10% difference in lap times in favour of the CP.

Same here - I would have liked heated seats, but I wanted the best performance so it had to be Circuit Pack.
I also figure that upgrades to speakers and heated seats can both be easily added afterwards.

Got mine, did 400km,
I had a hard time getting the seating postition right
Steering is a little less communicative compared to my GT4, brakes are as good
I need getting used to the ITM and the clutch; gearbox is very good though
Carplay works perfectly, dashboard has plenty of info, heated seats&steering wheel a nice touch in this season

Only drove it in ‘Normal’
It feels very planted, wants to go fast, a little harsh on bad roads: better go faster biggrin

I also have a GT4 (tuned 981) ... I will have to wait until June for my little red devil ... smile

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts as you settle into the car ... I also have a GRMN that I am very happy with ...

You get more info from the steering in the GT4, it is more ‘intense’
GR4 feels ‘faster’ due to the turbo
But for me they are pretty similar: they both give you great confidence in all kind of situations
I drove my GT4 on summertires on the snow and felt fine
As an ‘owner’ I am very happy with both
Reviewing a car <> really owning a car ;-)

Delighted to say we have a GR in White with CP arriving March 23rd. Will be P/exing or selling Molly's one year old Golf R for one. We have both been fortunate to be given the chance to drive a GR; our first reactions were that it made us smile plus it certainly goes ! There is no doubt that it feels special which it certainly is. I very much doubt that we will miss the luxury and sheer all round ability of the Golf because we will be having fun so we will forgive the lack of interior refinement. Something that has surprised me is the professionalism, efficiency and courtesy provided by Mortorline Toyota in Hereford throughout all our dealings so far. To recieve a call on Christmas Eve confirming our Order Number made our Christmas.

I knew you knew.

But I wish that Toyota had just called it the GR-FOUR. But they sensibly wanted the halo effect to shift some more electric shopping trolleys. Which is fine by me as they have given Toyota the funds and the fleet average to enable the GR Yaris.

I’ve been really impressed with Yeomans Toyota Worthing. Great staff there.

Well, I have been persuaded - changing my order to a Circuit pack today. Heart over head decision but I don't think I'll regret it!

Considering how convoluted Audi and VW cars wheels are getting to make them look different to the last generation these are so pure.

Looking forward to what Fensport can do with this car.....

400bhp and a lot more grip.

From a Yaris.

Thanks CEO beer

I believe they modelled them on a samurai sword. VW/Audi could have modelled their wheels on a panzer tank and I’d have considered one.

Why has no one asked any of the good questions yet?

There is very little information (even from Toyota) about this car.

It has a 43ltr fuel tank, but what fuel does it require (is it 95 or 97+).
Fuel consumption, from what I have seen, 34mpg at 75mph? can we get some confirmation on what the wltp figures are as those are not floating around either.

Service intervals? What nasty shocks are coming to potential new owners?

I know these are mundane question but they do need answering for potential owners.
