Toyota GR Yaris - Official! (Vol 2)

Does anyone know if the exhaust tips are removable?
I always get chrome painted/powder coated black to save hassle keeping clean...
Also the TRD carbon interior kit looks interesting - anyone got one on order/fitted?

Has anyone taken the roof wrap off a EUR spec car yet?
I'm interested to confirm if it's unidirectional fibres like the first few JDM models....
Yes quite a few. It’s identical except unfinished. Theory is it’s cost saving as finishing would be quite time consuming and more costly. It needs some work to make smooth and requires a UV wrap to protect it. I'm interested to confirm if it's unidirectional fibres like the first few JDM models....

I liked the idea of unwrapping it at first but agree that it doesn’t look great. Then you’ve got to relacquer or UV PPF it again.
Wrap or no wrap, it looks better than the melted chessboard that BMW managed for the M2 CS:

If you’re going to show the weave, then it needs to be layed up properly. Not by some German kid on work experience.

It's one of the few poor decisions they've taken with the GR, covering that lovely, functional carbon fibre with a wrap.
Normalise non-woven CF! Looks much more pro anyway.
Cost to wrap vs preparing it to a presentable finish. Plus the time it adds to the production line. Normalise non-woven CF! Looks much more pro anyway.

Sounds like a custom boot liner is your best bet, if you can find one that fits.
One is available in japan from Toyota branded GRhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carsio-Tailored-Black-C...

All the videos etc I am seeing, the cars seem to exhibit quite bad rev hang between gears. Am I seeing/hearing something that isn't there or is this a thing? I have had similar in cars before and this could be a dealbreaker for me if so.
Is it not the imt doing it’s thing? Have you got a video you have watched that you can share? hertfordshire1 said:

Carbon fibre always seems silly to me when added on top of something else…adding a weight saving material on top of the original part.I always get chrome painted/powder coated black to save hassle keeping clean...

It's a wrap though. It only gives you the appearance. Im a big fan of its look but unfortunately it's not available for LHD cars yet.Gassing Station | Toyota | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
